The following is a ranking of the most happening nightclubs in Jakarta at the moment. Note: I updated this review of Jakarta's best nightclubs in January 2024. The line between a club and a bar can be thin. Some places are great for dancing and drinking but I didn't include them here because I considered them to be bars. Jakarta is one of the cities in the world with the most skyscrapers (buildings over 150 meters high). Luckily, several of them have rooftop bars and restaurants from which you can enjoy an amazing view. Rising way above the traffic jams, they are also a great way to escape from Jakarta's pollution, and to enjoy a fresher air. While driving in SCBD, you've probably seen a massive new building, just behind Electronic City, with the logo "The H Club". It just popped up in late May 2023 and it's hard to miss, especially at night, with its modern design and bright neons. Biggest Nightclub in Jakarta The H Club is actually the biggest nightclub in Jakarta, and possibly in the whole of Asia. Sprawling on 7000m2, it can accommodate more than 2,000 party-goers on its massive dance floor. It is the flagship property of the HW group, which is also the owner of multiple other nightclubs all over Indonesia (including the very famous Atlas in Bali ). It is even more impressive inside than outside. It has a rounded shape with a 10-meter high ceiling and several huge chandeliers. Both the sound and lighting system are top-notch, on the level of the best nightclubs in the world. SCBD is the most happening nightlife area in Jakarta at the moment. This is where you will find the hippest bars and clubs, especially those that are popular with young (and rich) Indonesians in their early twenties. The main reason for this success is its central location, combined with the presence of high-class malls (Pacific Place, ASHTA), prestigious offices (banks and financial institutions especially), luxury apartments, and 5-star hotels ( Ritz-Carlton or Alila). It is also near Senopati, one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Jakarta, which is another vibrant nightlife area. The best thing about partying in SCBD is that you can easily go from one place to another, sometimes just on foot. There is always some kind of life in Jakarta, whatever the time and whatever the location. It is quite logical considering the city has one of the highest population densities in the world. Another reason is that there are a lot of Indonesians working long shifts or night shifts, especially small business owners and independent workers. As long as money can be made, they won't close shop or go home. This is why you can always get food, cigarettes, or a taxi ride at any time of the night.
