Blowfish is one of the most popular club among the Jakarta elite, with Dragonfly and now Immigrant, and a classic of Jakarta's nightlife. Lots of Chinese people, some expats as well, and many beautiful girls with expensive dresses and perfect hair. It's glam until 3am, then everybody is drunk. It seems most people don't really go to Blowfish to have fun, but rather to be seen, a glass of Champagne (mixed with Sprite to make it more sweet) in the hand.The music is good though, usually Rnb and on weekends it's always crowded. The club has foreign DJs regularly, and good ones, making it a very happening night club. Apart from the bar and the club, there is an excellent italian restaurant, Puro, with a modern but expensive Italian menu..

ReplyDeleteNot a bad place, it was packed when I visited, and the music was as good as anywhere in Europe. My only problem was with the poor service, there are so many regulars with money that if you are only an occasional visitor in Blowfish, the waiters don't treat you very well: I had to wait 15 minutes to get a mojito, then i waited a good twenty minutes for my change. Unacceptable. While I was waiting i saw other customers, obviously with more money, who would get their bottles and champagne glasses in 2 minutes. I hope the management can hire a few extra staff to give each customers the service is supposed to get in such high class bars.
ReplyDeleteAnother point: Girls are not up for grab, they stay shy with there friends and won't dance or talk easily with a foreigner.
I never want to go to this place ever again. you have to be careful to go this place 'cos may be u will find some idiot Chinese kids act like " an asshole" or NORAK if i'd like to say especially when they drunk. i was not very pleasant after all.

I went there once with a girl friend, the club was full of young chinese, with globally good spirit. We staid in between 2 sofas and groups, because very difficult to move, and a guy offered us various drinks all along the night. At the end I was completely drunk, but happy. It's true that after 3 everybody is more or less drunk, girls included, but still dancing and chatting. At the end I think that the ambiance is better than in other classical clubs because of the open mind of chinese, I felt to be in a "normal european club" but full of asiat, good experience.

ReplyDeleteThe crowd come in 4-8 people. Most of them come as couple and if not, they seems to stick with their own group. I think not a place to meet new people unless u can approach a group of 8 hot girl.

ReplyDeletethis is not a place to get new friends and a pickup one night stand girl.. yes most of the crowd that go to BF is rich chinesse.. they come in a group to enjoy the night.. just seen and being seen.. almost no 'working' girl in here... so the club is more girl 'friendly' if your intention is to enjoy spending time with good friends.. this is the place to be.. not to be bothered with 'workers'

Good music and good vibe especially after the refurbishing.. I also have to add that they have pretty "CLEAN" crowd?? cause like others said, this rich chinese kids and pretty high society kids r coming with their group.. and they just hang out with their GROUP ONLY!! seems like they have a code where they don't fuk around other people table.

Yaa udah dr pd clubbing pada komplain mending ngaji aja deh. Ataw having stuff with family. Having fun doesnt always mean go to club, hook up with the girls, a one-night stand, or get drunk.
