Best VPNs in Vietnam: How to Access Blocked Websites?

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →

Note from Jakarta100bars: This article is also valid for countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Indonesia. I would recommend the same VPN clients, namely VyprVPNHide My Ass and Nord VPN.

The Vietnamese government has a troubling history of blocking websites and invading the privacy of internet users.

Reporters without Borders considers the country as an "Enemy of the Internet" for censoring and arresting bloggers/netizens. The latest case was the arrest of Ho Van Hai in November 2016 for an anti-government Facebook post.

The list of blocked websites in Vietnam varies depending on your internet provider. Some famous sites like Twitter, Facebook and even the BBC have been blocked in recent years. You have certainly noticed that many porn websites are banned as well, for instance YouPorn, XVideos, PornHub, XHamster and many more. Some readers have also mentioned they had troubles connecting to betting and casino websites.

There is one very easy solution to protect your identity and to access any websites you want in Vietnam, including porn: A Virtual Private Network (or VPN).

A VPN is a software/app that you can download on your phone or your computer. Once you've launched it, you can choose to connect from another country (each VPN provider has its own list of countries). If you choose France for instance, you will access the internet as if you were located in France instead of Vietnam.

This can also be very helpful to bypass content restrictions in Vietnam. For instance, if you want to watch a TV replay or a sporting event which is only available in a specific country, you just need to connect to this particular country with your VPN.

Another popular use of VPN is for watching Netflix USA from Vietnam. In this case, you should use Nord VPN as it hasn't been blocked by Netflix.

Last but not least, using a VPN means that no one will know what websites you visit, including your employer or your landlord. You are certainly aware that the incognito mode on your internet browser only protects you from your wife! If you don't want to worry about people finding out what you've been looking for on Google, you must purchase a VPN.

There are some Free VPNs on the market, for instance Ola VPN. None of them offers the same speed and the same anonymity compared to paid VPNs. You should consider those only if you cannot afford paying 5$ per month.

The price of a VPN is indeed very reasonable, especially with a yearly plan. There are three services that I have tried and that I can recommend for Vietnam:

VyprVPN by Golden Frog - Overall Best VPN for Vietnam: 3 Month Free, Fast, Secure

I can't think of a better VPN for Vietnam at the time of writing (if you know a best one, please leave a comment below).

Golden Frog was founded in 1994 and it is based in Switzerland, one of the most open countries in the world. It is more than a successful business as they have been a constant advocate of Internet freedom for over 30 years now.

Their VPN client is called VyprVPN and it is my first choice for the following reasons:

1) Golden Frog owns and maintains its own servers with their own engineers. Consequently, there are no third parties involved in VyprVPN that may have access to your personal data. At the time of writing, this is an advantage they have over all of their competitors.

2) VyprVPN is fast and they have unlimited bandwidth. If you love to download movies or if you keep watching porn (nothing wrong with that), you will see no difference whether your VPN is turned on or turned off.

3) They have over 700 servers in 70 locations, including 5 in Southeast Asia (1 in Hanoi, 1 in Singapore, 1 in Bangkok, 1 in Jakarta, 1 in Kuala Lumpur). They are also in Taiwan, Hong-Kong, Macau, Korean and Japan.

4) VyprVPN can help you bypass bandwidth throttling. This practice, common in Vietnam, consists for an internet provider or a government to limit the speed of certain websites. It is a subtle form of censorship.

5) Their Chameleon encryption technology allows you to beat VPN blocking in some countries (like China). It also guarantees you can access Netflix USA.

6) You can use VyprVPN on multiple devices such as Iphones (IOS), Android phones, PCs, MacBook, Blackberry and Linux.

In spite of being the best VPN for Vietnam, it is not more expensive than the competition if you stick to their basic plan (5$ per month with a yearly subscription). If you want to benefit from the Chameleon technology though, you'll need to spend 6.25$ per month (yearly plan).

Here is a summary of their prices (for more details, click Pricing - VyprVPN):

Basic Plan (2 devices at the same time)
→ 1-Month Plan: 9.99$ per month
→ 12-Month Plan: 5$ per month

Pro Plan (Chameleon Technology to Bypass Netflix ban, 3 devices at the same time)
→ 1-Month Plan: 14.99$ per month
→ 12-Month Plan: 6.25$ per month

Premier Plan (Chameleon Technology, 5 devices at the same time)
→ 1-Month Plan: 19.99$ per month
→ 12-Month Plan: 7.50$ per month

They are so confident about their product that they are currently offering a 3-month free trial until end of December 2016. After that, you will still benefit from a 30-day money back guarantee.

Hide My Ass - Best Value For Money
In spite of its funny name, Hide My Ass is one of the most reputed VPNs in the world. It has an impressive list of servers in a record 190 countries. Basically, this means you can access the internet from any location on the planet. This can be very helpful if you travel a lot elsewhere than Vietnam.

Hide My Ass was recommended by prestigious publications like Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg and the Guardian (among other). It is regularly ranked as one of the best VPNs by more specialist tech websites as well.

Apart from its huge list of servers (among which one in Vietnam), the general consensus about Hide My Ass is that it is budget-friendly, easy to use (1-click installation) and trust-worthy (it is owned by AVG Corporation).

They have a 30-day money back guarantee which means you can try Hide My Ass for free at no risk. Read the fine print first though to avoid bad surprises: How to Apply for A Refund?

The current prices are the following:
→ 1-Month Plan: 9.99$ per month
→ 6-Month Plan: 6.66$ per month
→ 12-Month Plan: 4.99$ per month - Best Choice

You can click on this link to register: Hide My Ass - Pricing.

NordVPN - Great for Netflix
NordVPN is an excellent VPN which is particularly recommended if you plan on watching Netflix USA in Vietnam (or any other local version of Netflix for that matter).

It was the editor's choice for best VPN by PC Mag for several years in a row. They run a double encryption on your data (unique among the competition) and they do not keep any log of your connection, meaning your privacy is 100% guaranteed.

It allows for peer to peer download (P2P) which is great if you like to connect to torrent sites like The Pirate Bay or Kick Ass Torrent. You will get maximum speed from one of their 726 servers in 57 countries (including 5 in Southeast Asia: Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand). See the complete list of servers here.

Their support is really fast: You can contact them directly on their website if you have any questions and they'll reply within seconds 24/7.

You can try Nord VPN for free during 30 days by registering though this link Nord VPN - Special Offer. Just don't forget to unsubscribe at the end of your trial!

The current prices are the following:
→ 1-Month Plan: 11.95$ per month
→ 6-Month Plan: 7$ per month
→ 12-Month Plan: 5.75$ per month

Do you recommend other VPNs for Vietnam? Or do you have any tips for accessing forbidden websites in the country (while keeping your privacy safe?

Nha Trang Nightlife (Vietnam) in 2017

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
If you are into beach bars, cheap drinks and hooking-up with drunk tourists, you might find that Nha Trang nightlife is the best in Vietnam.

I spent about a week there on holiday, during low season, and that gave me plenty of time to party in every single bar and nightclub in town.

The best thing about Nha Trang is that compared to other cities in Vietnam like Saigon or Hanoi, the rules are more relaxed. Venues stay open late, dress codes are rarely enforced, and it's more easy to find girl-friendly hotels. Prices are also very cheap, especially during low season. With a $50 budget, you should have enough to book at least a 3-star hotel, eat in nice beachfront restaurants and drink plenty at night.

The drawback of Nha Trang, as you've probably read elsewhere, is the huge proportion of Russian, Chinese and Vietnamese tourists compared to other nationalities. I really don't have anything against them, but I noticed that they tend to stay together, maybe because of the language or culture, and rarely mix. As a result, visiting a nightclub in Nha Trang can become quite a social experiment. You'll look at other people party but you won't always feel part of the action. Of course it depends where you go.

The objective of this review is to give you the best advice on where to go for nightlife in Nha Trang if you are like me, a single guy, Westerner, in his 30s.

Hotels in Nha Trang Near the Nightlife
Nha Trang is a medium-sized city with almost 400,000 inhabitants. Most of the tourists are logically staying near the beach front.

The area with an active nightlife is limited to the city center. If you want to be walking distance from nightclubs AND the beach, I recommend you to book one of the following hotels:

If you book in advance, you can get a 5-star hotel in Nha Trang for 100$-150$. The best one is probably the brand new Intercontinental Nha Trang, from which you can walk to most nightclubs in Nha Trang (Zima Nightclub and Havana Club are across the street). There is also the stylish RuNam Bistro on the ground level, perfect for a date.

Sheraton Nha Trang is just next to it, but it is more expensive and older. It has a quiet rooftop lounge called Altitude.

The nearby Best Western Premier Havana is another excellent choice. It has one of the most amazing nightlife venues in Nha Trang, the Skylight 360° Rooftop Bar.

Novotel Nha Trang is great 4-star beach front property, usually less expensive (100$ for the cheapest room).

Liberty Central Nha Trang is just 100m from the beach and close from the busiest area for cheap bars and restaurants. It is also walking distance from the Sailing Club and Louisiane Brewhouse, the two nicest beach clubs in central Nha Trang.

There are hundreds of small guest houses and backpacker hostels in Nha Trang. To be near the nightlife and the beach, you can check any property located near Booze Cruise Bar or Why Not Bar.

Girl Friendly Hotels / Sex Hotels
The hotels above may not be girl-friendly. It is better to ask a receptionist whether it is ok for you to bring your "girlfriend" to your room.

If you want certainty, you can book a room in one of the two hotels below. Both have a massage parlours where sexual services are provided so you can expect them to be open-minded regarding who you stay with.

Quoc Te Hotel and Sauna is the most famous. Rooms are decent for about 20-40 dollars per night. It is also central, just 5 minutes away from the beach by foot and 10 minutes from good bars.

Hoa Dao Hotel, Karaoke and Spa is a bit further from the action but cheaper. You can get a room for less than 20$.

Meeting Girls

It is easy to meet foreign girls and prostitutes in Nha Trang clubs and bars, but more difficult to meet normal Vietnamese girls. This is normal as most of them are rather conservative and not the party type.

The best way to meet those good girls is to use dating websites and apps. You can subscribe to Vietnamese Cupid before arriving (the price is around 25$ per month). If you have a decent looking profile, you should manage to organize dates with several girls upon arrival. This can really help you make your stay more enjoyable.

Best Bars and Nightclubs in Nha Trang
Most of the best bars and nightclubs in Nha Trang are within a few hundred meters from each other, on Tran Phu Street. It's very easy to do a pub crawl just by walking. Here are my recommended nightlife spots in Nha Trang:

Sailing Club
Sailing Club is one of the most famous F&B venues in Nha Trang, day or night. It is the equivalent of Potato Head in Bali. During the day, it is your typical beach club, not luxury but definitely upmarket. You can get a beach cabana/lounger without any minimum spending. Prices are higher than elsewhere: Cocktails cost between VND160,000 and VND200,000 and local beer VND70,000. For the food (curries, pizza, pasta, burgers, wraps, salads, sandwiches), you'll spend on average VND250,000 for a main course. The crowd is really mixed. You have families, couples, young people, etc. Most are Russian and Vietnamese.

In the evening, it become a hot party spot with live music or DJ. You'll see more backpackers then. Saturday nights are the best with their weekly beach party. Other days can be quiet and you'll only see a few people dancing. It's a good place to meet girls but beware as there are also some freelance prostitutes.

Louisiane Brewhouse is a similar venue but more quiet and relaxed. Both belong to the same group.

Address: 72-74 Tran Phu Street
Phone number: +84 58 3524 628
Open everyday from 10am to 2am

Havana Club
Vietnamese club, similar to the kind you would find in Saigon. Loud dance music, people getting drunk until they pass out. They have events like sexy dancers and singers. If you live in Saigon, it's not really worth visiting as there is nothing new here. Dress code: Avoid shorts and flip-flops. They have some sort of sexy lady companions.

Address: 38 Tran Phu Street (in front of Best Western Premier Havana)
Phone number: 093 585 54 42

Zima Club
While Havana is the best club for Vietnamese, Zima is the favourite for Russians. Guys must pay a cover charge of VND50,000 with one free drink. Many Russians girls are alone but they aren't the prettiest. The main dance floor is quite small and surrounded by tables/sofas. Second floor is more private. The music is house music from the 90s and 2000s with some Russian EDM tracks. Quite loud. Its not that sophisticated but it has a pleasant holiday feel. They have sexy Russian gogo dancers.

Address: 26 Tran Phu Street (E-Land)
Phone number: 0126 763 6888
Facebook: Zima Nha Trang
Open every day from 8pm to 3am

Pool Pub - PP
Pool Pub is a beer garden/bar near the beach front, 100 meters before the Best Western Premier Havana. It's packed starting 9pm with a crowd mostly Vietnamese. They play loud house music that can be heard from the street. People cannot really talk to each other so they just smile all the time and keep cheering. Funny! They have some sexy waitresses and bikini hostesses.

If you like Pool Pub, you can also check UlikeILike and Rocky Beer Clubs. All are noisy venue with cheap beer and an all-Vietnamese crowd.

Address: 40 Tran Phu Street
Phone number: 090 511 63 56
Facebook: Pool Pub NT
Open everyday from 5pm to 2am

Lodge Club
Your typical Vietnamese nightclub. Guys drinking directly from the bottles with hot Vietnamese chicks who look 16. They have some special "hostesses".

Address: 42 Tran Phu
Phone number: 090 195 29 99
Facebook: Lodge Club Nha Trang

Yasaka 008 Night Club
Located in Yasaka Saigon Resort and Spa, this is another Vietnamese-style nightclub. It's very loud with aggressive lighting. It's supposed to be luxurious but feels a bit dodgy. Sexy dancers.

Address: 8 Tran Phu Street
Phone number: +84 58 382 0090
Open every day from 9pm to 3am

Best Rooftop Bars in Nha Trang
With several high-rise building, Nha Trang has some great rooftop bars. They are generally crowded from sunset until 10pm. They are not party places unless there is a specific events. It's best to visit them in the late afternoon when there is still day light as the view can be disappointing at night.

Skylight 360° Sky Deck & Rooftop Beach Club
One of the most popular spots in Nha Trang, Skylight is well-worth visiting at least once. You have a VND100,000 entrance fee for the beach club (VND150,000 on weekends) that comes with a free drink.

They have a swimming pool but the lounge chairs around it are often taken. It's more pricey than average so expect to pay VND150,000-200,000 for cocktails. There is a DJ playing lounge/chill out tunes on normal days. Weekends are more happening, you can check for events on their facebook page.

Address: 38 Tran Phu Street
Phone number: 058 3528 988

Open everyday from 8am to 2pm and from 4.30pm to midnight

The Rooftop Bar @ Ha Van Hotel
On the 5th floor of the Han Van Hotel, the Rooftop Bar is quite unique in Nha Trang. It is managed by a multicultural team: Nicolas, the Canadian owner, Arnaud, Annie and the Chef Marc-André. Since it opened in 2007, it has become the best expat bar in the city. You'll also find many backpackers and some locals.

It is almost always busy, and particularly on Friday during their ladies night (1 free cocktail for girls from 9pm to 12pm). The food is excellent, burgers are a must-try. There is also a Vietnamese restaurant downstairs (same owner) called Yen's.

The ambiance at night is bit psychedelic: It is dark, with predominantly red lights and electronic music. It reminded me of beach bars in Koh Phangan or Goa.

It is a good spot for meeting normal girls. Some Vietnamese girls seemed to be looking for boyfriends. Cheap if you go during happy hours from 5p to 9pm = Buy 1 Get 1 Free. 10 shots for VND500,000. Shisha available.

Open daily from 5pm to 2am
Phone number: +84 58 3525 454
Ha Van Hotel, 3/2 Tran Quang Khai Street
Facebook: Rooftop Bar

Above Sky Bar
Above is the newest rooftop bar in Nha Trang. It opened in December 2015 on top of Liberty Central Hotel. If you are familiar with Saigon nightlife, you will notice the bar look very similar to Chill Sky Bar. The concept is also almost the same: Lounge music during the day, DJ later in the evening.

Ladies night on Wednesday: Girls get free Mojitos from 9pm to 11pm.

Address: 7-9 Biệt Thự
Phone number: 058 3529 555
Facebook: Above Liberty Central
Everyday from 5pm to 1am

Altitude Bar
On the 27th floor of the Sheraton Nha Trang, the design of Altitude suffers from the comparison with Skylight. It is expensive (5$ a beer) but you can visit it from 5pm to 7pm daily to enjoy their happy hours (buy 1 get 1 free). Ladies night on Saturday will get girls free signature cocktails from 8pm to 9pm. Live Music Wednesday and Thursday.

26-28 Tran Phu Street
Phone number: 058 3880 000
Facebook: Altitude Bar
Open from Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm to 11pm (closed on Monday)

Lunar Lounge
Lunar Lounge is a recently renovated rooftop bar and restaurant in Nha Trang Center building. It is Canadian/Vietnamese owned. They have a beautiful lagoon-shaped pool, live music (English and Vietnamese songs) and an International menu ($8-$12 for a main course). Modern design. Not so crowded.

20 Tran Phu, Nha Trang Center, 4th Floor
Phone number: 096 869 00 00
Facebook: Lunar Bar Vietnam
Open everyday from 7am to 1am

Backpacker / Cheap Bars in Nha Trang
Nha Trang is such a cheap destination that it attracts many backpackers doing their Southeast Asia tour. As usual, they gather in just a few streets, namely Nguyễn Thiện Thuật and Tran Quang Khai.
90% of the backpacker bars in Nha Trang are within the green area

There are at least 20 bars there, with little to differentiate one from another. My advice would be to just walk around and pick the most crowded. Apart from the ones I'm reviewing below, you can have a look at Patrick (wine bar - French food - live music), Far East Rock Bar (they have 2 - cheap beer), Hole in The Wall (English-owned pub with bar girls), Crazy Kim (sports bar), La Mancha (salsa - Spanish food), Pankoff (German beer), After the Beach (empty but pretty Russian hostesses) and Connection (good location at the angle of the street).

Why Not Bar
Why Not Bar is one of those shitty places that still get to exist due to the lack of alternatives. You'll hear terrible stuff about it, yet it is the most busy bar in the city past 1am.

There are many reports about customers being stolen valuables or scammed. If you plan on getting drunk there, just don't bring too much cash with you and no passport, no papers, and no phone. The place is so cheap that you can probably drink all-night for less than $10. Hard drinks (VND15,000 for a rum coke) are most likely done using fake alcohol. It's better to stick to beers (VND10,000 for a local beer).

Why Not Bar can be a lot of fun though, and a good place to meet other tourists, particularly Western girls. Local prostitutes are lurking around too. The music is an Itunes playlist with any song that was in the Top 40 in the past 20 years.

Address: 24 Tran Quang Khai
Phone number: +84 58 3522 652
Facebook: Why Not Bar
Open everyday from 6am until 3am

Booze Cruise Sports Bar
A bit more expensive compared to other places nearby, the American-owned Booze Cruise is nonetheless one of the busiest bars on the street. Many regulars among the customers, mostly guys in their 30s and 40s. The crowd of Booze is the pretty much the opposite of the crowd of Roofop Bar in Ha Van Hotel.

They serve pub fare from breakfast to dinner. You can play pool and table football.

Address: 110 Nguyen Thien Thuat
Phone number: +84 90 571 9519
Facebook: Booze Cruise Sports Bar
Open everyday from 7am to 3am

If you like the testosterone atmosphere of Booze Cruise, you may also want to try Cheers Bar (good food and live sport). It gets quite crowded when there is a big AFL game on. The owner is Australian.

Quan 69 Bach Dang
This is the place to go if you want to tell your friends that you literally got drunk for a buck. 2 liters of local beer will cost you less than VND20,000. They also serve some good Vietnamese food (duck soup).

Many older expats seem to be spending most of their days over there.

Address: 69 Bach Dang Street
Phone number: 35 15 725

Prostitution in Nha Trang: Massage Parlours, Spas and Karaokes

Spas and Massage Parlours Plus Plus
Therapists in Hoa Da Massage Parlour
Like all major Vietnamese cities, Nha Trang has its fair share of massage parlours and spas. The best ones have a similar pricing: Around VND300,000 for the "normal" treatment, and then if you want more you must add a tip to the girl (VND300,000 for handjob, VND500,000 for full sex). VIP rooms have jacuzzi where you will be bathed naked and cost between VND500,000 and VND600,000.

The most famous "naughty" massage parlour in Nha Trang is Hoa Da. It's a chain with 4 locations in the city. From the information I could get, only handjobs are available. You can get two girls at once if you ask for the "Super VIP" package.

Hoa Da 1
10/1 Lý Tự Trọng Street
Phone number: 0583.826.877

Hoa Da 2
115A Hoàng Văn Thụ Street
Phone number: 0583.816.028

Hoa Da 3
39 Mê Linh Street (a bit far from center)
Phone number:

Hoa Da 4
14 A Trần Văn Ơn Street
Phone number: 0583.561.277

You can check the prices and photos of the room on their website: Hoa Da Massage Plus Nha Trang. The same group also owns Hoa Dao Hotel, Karaoke and Spa which is a good option if you are looking for a girl-friendly hotel with massage parlour.

Another massage parlour plus plus located inside a hotel is Quoc Te. Full service is available there. They have a sauna and steambath. Prices are higher than elsewhere. If you are on a budget, you can go to the "Seagull" hotel instead: Hai Au Hotel.

Nha Trang is filled with karaokes. They range from the cheap places in local neighborhood to upmarket venues on the beach.

If you want to find one with pretty lady companions and hostesses, you can go to Four Seasons Karaoke in E-Land (in front of Best Western Premier Havana) or in Yasaka 008 in Yasaka Saigon Resort and Spa.

25 Best Massage Parlours and Spas in Saigon

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Saigon/Ho Chi Minh City is full of naughty massage parlours and spas where you can get "extra service" (also referred to as "happy ending", "rug and tug", "plus plus", or simply by what they are, handjobs).

I enjoyed Saigon nightlife several months when I was living there, but I had actually not been to one of these massage parlours/spas. Nevertheless, as I am a sucker for web traffic, I'm listing here all the places that provide such services in Saigon. Most of the information below comes from tips from friends who are expats in Saigon, completed with research on internet forums and blogs.

Many of the spas are located inside hotels. If you are looking for a girl-friendly hotel in Saigon, it is a good idea to book one of them. I included a direct link to Agoda to help you. I make a small commission on every booking so if you like this review and value the hours I spent writing it, please book your hotel using one of the links!

Meeting Vietnamese Girls Online
Of all the world cities I've travelled to, Saigon has the highest number of hotties per square meter. Even better, many are dreaming to date a foreigner (even if there is a 20 years age gap!). Some are not against the idea of finding a generous sugar daddy abroad as well.

A great way to meet smart, open-minded, English-speaking Vietnamese girls is to connect to the dating site On average, you have over 1,000 beautiful girls online every evening and they are easy to chat with.

You can sign up for free, check profiles and like any girl's profile. If they like you back, you can start chatting with them. It's better to get a membership though. The price is only 25$ per month, renewable every month. You'll be able to contact every girl fast and to increase your success rate.

Spa Etiquette in Saigon

Ticket and Tipping
Apart from a few local places, there are no "full service" massage parlours in Saigon. This means that on top of paying for the room (entrance ticket), you must always negotiate a tip with the girl depending on what you want. In most of the venues listed, only a HJ (handjob) is allowed, but if BJ (blowjob), DATY (cunnilingus), BJ (full sex) are available I will mention it.

The good etiquette is to give a tip at least equal to the price of your room. I read many comments about guys who tip low not to "ruin the market". But if you have enough money to ruin the market, why would you care? There is no secret that the bigger the tip, the bigger the motivation of the masseuse.

The kind of room you book has an influence on the type of service you will receive:
Standard room means a normal massage with potentially more depending on the tip you give.
Vip room means that you will get a bathtub or a jacuzzi. As a result, you will normally be bathed naked by the therapist. The therapist will keep her clothes on. Then you get a normal massage + whatever you negotiate to get.
Super VIP means you will have two girls massaging you for 2 hours in a room with jacuzzi/bathtub. Again, the girls will not be nude, only you.

Choosing Your Masseuse
There are no fishbowl or aquarium in Vietnam. Each girl has a number that you can request. Many Vietnamese share the "good" numbers on private forums or private Facebook groups. Foreigners don't have as much luxury and they will often get a random girl.

To increase your chances of being with a pretty girl, you can make special requests to the mamasan or GRO (Guest Relation Officer). If you don't like the girl who is brought to you, you can always ask for another one too.

Foreigners and Vietnamese
Most massage parlours where foreigners go to are located in District 1. They are pricier but you will probably feel more comfortable in such places. If you feel adventurous, the best ones are actually in District 3, District 5 and District 10. In those places, it is likely that girls will ask you for a bigger tip because you are a foreigner. Expect to pay 30%-50% more.

The area known as "Little Tokyo" in Le Thanh Ton Street and Ngô Văn Năm street is even more pricey. Most guests are Japanese and Korean who will pay up to 5 times the normal rates.

Some brothels are forbidden to Vietnamese and you will be asked to show your passport to get in. Apparently this is to avoid troubles with the police.

Tip from VND200,000 to VND300,000. Some girls will take off their bras or even go full nude for an additional VND200,000.

Bui Vien Spa Scam
In District 1 (and particularly in Bui Vien or near Hai Bai Trung), some massage parlours run a well-known scam: A staff opens your locker while you're being treated and takes some of your money. Avoid places where sexy girls are aggressively trying to pull customers away from the street with the promise of a "cheap massage".

If you are in Bui Vien and need an honest massage parlour, you can go to Kaka Spa (138 Bui Vien). The room starts at VND180,000 and the tip is between VND250,000 and VND400,000.

Girlie Bars of Hai Bai Trung, Bui Vien and Smiley Bar
Around Hai Bai Trung street and Bui Vien, you have several hostess bars with a naughty side. They don't have a name, only a number. Most have been shut down by the police a few years back. The ones remaining are pretty gross but they are convenient. Smiley may be the best one. It is easy to spot with its huge yellow smiley above the entrance.

On the first floor is a normal hostess bar: You buy a drink at an inflated price and a girl will come sit next to you, trying to get you to buy her ladies drinks. At one point, they will offer to play a game of pool. If you win, you see her naked. If you lose, you give her VND500,000. They will generally offer to do a blowjob as well whoever wins.

Few of these girls are pretty. They will also tend to be pushy for more and more tips.

"Clean" Beauty Salons
If you walked near Benh Thanh Market, you may have noticed some beauty salons with very pretty girls inside, usually wearing skirts and high heels. Those places do not provide anything more than beauty treatments, but many guys enjoy being aroused there. You can also easily get a phone number.

The famous one is Le Duyen 4 (72 Trương Định).

"Naughty" Beauty Salons
If you go further away from the city center, you can find what Vietnamese call "Hot Tocs Goi Dau" or "HTGD" (hairdressers) which are quite unique in Saigon's prostitution scene. Most people visit them for blowjobs.
The most famous one among foreigners is Benny or Ben Ny (110 Điện Biên Phủ, 17, Bình Thạnh) because it is relatively clean and the girls are skilled. The entrance fee is VND200,000 and the tip between VND200,000 and VND300,000.

An alternative is to go to Nguyen Phi Khanh street (often called NPK), on the northern end of District 1. You have 4 "Hot Tocs' in which you can ask for 2 girls if you pay double entrance and two tips.  Prices are similar to Ben Ny. Full sex is also available for a tip of VND1,000,000.

Those are two brothels located in the red-light area of Su Van Hanh and Le Hong Phong. It is a local prostitution area but more foreigners are starting to visit it for the KTVs and the "hot tocs" (salons).

Hai Yen and China are one of those salons. You pay VND300,000 for a room, then you can get full service for VND1,000,000. Both are considered high-end by Vietnamese standards and therefore the girls are rather pretty.

In case you are wondering, prostitution is actually illegal in Vietnam. And yet you could find hundred more venues, not even including the KTV, the freelancers, online prostitution and high-class escorts! The list above is only the tip of the iceberg. If you think I forgot an important one, please leave a comment below. If there is a mistake in the information provided, just let me know and I'll correct it.

212 Nightclub - Ho Chi Minh City

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
212 is the newest Vietnamese nightclub in Saigon. It is exclusive and faux-riche, yet very fun. It is packed with hot Vietnamese girls with ample cleavage who are dressed up in tight mini-skirts. Guys are quite young, and they seem to be spending money they didn't earn themselves. The music is very loud: It is Vietnam-style house meaning the beat is faster than usual.

You cannot really go there and only have a drink at the bar. You need to book in advance and buy at least a bottle, preferably a few. You should come at least 3 people and ask for 3 lady companions. Also, give tips to the waiters and bouncers to make sure you are well-treated.

Overall: This is not a place for everybody. Most foreigners will hate the superficial, tacky atmosphere. Personally I enjoy it but I need a few drinks before entering and I cannot stay more than 2 hours.

Saigon Nightlife: Top 10 Clubs and Bars (2017)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Ho Chi Minh City nightlife, in Vietnam, is one of the craziest in Southeast Asia. I lived in the city for a few months in 2015 and this is my report about its best nightclubs, bars, karaokes and beer gardens. Note that Ho Chi Minh City can also be called Saigon, HCM or HCMC. I will also give more general nightlife tips for clubbing and having fun in Vietnam.

Choosing a Hotel Near the Nightlife:

I included a direct link to Agoda to help you book a hotel in Saigon. I make a small commission on every booking so if you like this review and value the hours I spent writing it, it would be nice for you to book using one of these links. If you don't like Agoda, you can also use my links to or The price is the same for you.

f you are not in Saigon yet but planning a trip, I recommend you to choose a hotel near Ben Thanh Market or the Opera House. You can also stay closer from the backpacker district, near Go2 Bar.

If you can afford it, the best hotels in Central Saigon are Park Hyatt, Reverie Hotel, Intercontinental, Lotte Legend and Sofitel. Le Meridien has just opened and it is close from the street with Japanese massage parlours (see below "Spa in Saigon").

Some hotels have a casino inside such as New World, Grand Hotel, Caravelle, Renaissance Riverside, Rex, Majestic, Hotel Continental and Sheraton.

Good 4-star options include Pullman, Novotel Centre, Liberty CityPoint (my favorite with a brand new CGV cinema inside), Liberty Riverside and Liberty Central.

Meeting Girls Before Arriving in Saigon:
If you visit Saigon alone or with some male friends, I recommend you to get a few contacts with local Vietnamese girls before arriving. Ideally, you should prepare a few weeks in advance, talk with your favorites over skype, and plan a date with the ones that are both pretty and open-minded.

As I wrote below, Vietnamese girls are not easy so it takes some time to find a hot one that won't ask for 20 dates before considering kissing you.

You have a few options to meet girls on the internet or through dating apps in Vietnam. Actually, they are the same options that those available for online dating in Indonesia. There is also a special website for Vietnamese girls who want to meet foreigners, it is called VietnamCupid. Girls you will talk to on this website do not expect you to be located in Vietnam so they are rather easy to approach. There is a free version and a premium one. Just pay for a month and see how it goes.
VietnamCupid is an interesting dating site to meet Vietnamese girls before you arrive in Saigon
Guest Friendly Hotels in Saigon:
The biggest problem you will face in Saigon when it comes to party is that many hotel will not accept any female guest in your room unless you are already married.

They are very strict with it, especially Government-run hotels. Even 4 and 5 stars hotel will refuse.

I think you should not be shy to ask directly to the hotel their policy about guests. Use a fake email if necessary but at least you'll know.

There are some lists of girl-friendly hotels in Saigon on the internet but you should be careful with those. It's always better to check. If you have an experience with a particular hotel in Saigon, it's great if you can share it in the comment section below.

In almost every streets of Saigon, you will find a short time / love hotel. Just pay attention to those advertising 24h check-in and a price by the hour. For instance, 80,000 VND / 1 giờ (giờ means hour).

Prices can be very cheap, from less than 5$ for an hour to rent the room.

You can read my guide about the 25 Best Massage Parlours in Saigon. It contains a list of guest-friendly hotels with "happy ending" spas inside.

Top 10 Vietnamese Nightclubs
Rich Vietnamese will usually party between themselves in intimate, swanky clubs and bars with very few foreigners inside. Typically, they will buy huge bottles of premium alcohol, have insanely hot-looking girls with them, and stay in groups around a table.

Vietnamese really know how to party so you will find a hell of an atmosphere in those places, with many drunk and stoned people going mental. In clubs like 02 Gold or DC, it seemed based on my observations that most clubbers were tripping on ecstasy or other drugs I'm not aware of. It is common to see someone who just passed out being evacuated by security.

In those Vietnamese clubs, you will notice that bouncers provide often over the top service. When you enter, they will escort you to a table, making you a way in the crowd as if you were some sort of high-profile VIP or celebrity. Of course, they expect generous tips for their services. The minute they understand you won't tip much even though you are white, they will most likely abandon you.

Update 2016: You can also check the brand new 212 Nightclub.

This nightclub is insane. I've never seen a club decorated in such an ostentatious way. The number of stunners (perfect 10 girls) is very high (you can see some photos from the girls inside 02 Gold at the bottom of this review). I recommend only if you are comfortable being in a 100% Vietnamese environment. Be warned that there is no proper bar: You need to book a table or order a bottle.
Even though it is located just a street away from Bui Vien's backpacker district, you won't see a foreigner in DC Club. As for Gold 02, it has a huge ratio of incredibly sexy girls per square meter. The music is loud and pumping and the décor very impressive.

Something strange happened to us in this place though: The first night we tried to go in, we (2 foreigners) were told: "No beautiful girls, come back tomorrow". It seemed we were not welcomed on that particular day.

3) Play
Located in the same building as Glow, but more popular with Vietnamese. Stylish place, good lighting and sound system, expensive. They have sexy dancers and burlesque shows.
4) A.C.E
A.C.E is located just one street behind Lush. It is quite similar with Play and targets the same crowd. Very busy on weekends, you MUST buy a bottle to enter. Pacman Theme.

Very small club, Rather young, good party crowd. There is both a rooftop area in the open air and a closed room for clubbing.

6) Fuse
Fuse is a popular nightclub near the Le Lai Park, close from the tourist neighborhood. For this reason, it is more common to see foreigners there. International DJs occasionally.

There is no sign in front of this club so it is a bit tricky to find. It has the reputation of being owned by the mafia and to be popular with recreative drugs users.

8) Canalis
Young crowd, happening events including sexy dancers, male gogo, sumo fighting, etc.

I didn't visit it as I'm not sure it is still open. It used to be one of Saigon's top nightlife spots with great events and sexy shows as you see on the pictures:

It is located in an unassuming building, yet the crowd inside is very well-off and classy. I would recommend visiting it only with a group to celebrate an event.

Other clubs worth mentioning:

Club 2000
Cho Lon District (Chinatown), District 6. Very popular club with a karaoke. They have live music and sexy pole dancer. Impressive lighting system. Royal treatment if you are a foreigner.

Gossip is a favorite spot for Vietnamese, Viet Kieus and Asian Expats (Singaporean mostly). They have many drop dead gorgeous hostesses to whom you can buy a drink. They can dance with you or accompany you to sing at the karaoke.

I have also heard about the following places but I did not visit:
Attica (might be closed), Don Lounge (seems like a luxurious club but I could not find if they are still open or not), Phantom Lounge and Club (I passed by and it seemed busy but did not enter it), Top 9 Club, Shangri-La 86 (Hung Vuong), Vertu, Q7 (District 7) and Avalon.
Sexy Dancers in 86
I went to another club called 52 Lan Kwai Fong. They had quite impressive pole dancers and a good vibe. The standard was more middle class than the venues listed above though.

The Best Beer Bars in Saigon

Kingdom is the most popular beer bar in Saigon among the local elite. It is packed almost every day of the week starting 9pm. It can be difficult to get a table there if you are not a regular and if you are only spending a little money. For a guy, the best thing about Kingdom is to look at some of the most beautiful girls you will find in the city. Most are with boyfriends and friends though so it is not really a pick up place.
There are litteraly hundreds of beer bars in Ho Chi Minh, from low class to super high class. Some nice places that I have tried are Vuvuzela Beer bars (several locations, the most famous and popular beer bar chain in Vietnam) and Poc Poc Beer Garden in District 3.

You may also want to check Yo Yo Beer GardenRacing Beer Club (RBC), Shooters Beer Club, Texas Beer Club, Hangover Beer Club, Win Win, Hobo and One Plus Beer ClubFox Beer Lounge is a new venue with great location, just a few hundred meters from Kingdom. It is more relaxed and easy-going.
If you crave to drink imported Belgian Beer, then you should try Beer & Barrel in District 3.

Top Nightclubs and Bars for Expats and Tourists

As of today, the best expat nightclubs / bars in Ho Chi Minh City are the following:

1) Glow
Impressive rooftop bar with great music and a very relaxed atmosphere. Many expats, among which 50% seem to be French.
Even though it is often unnecessarily pretentious, Chill Skybar remains a great place for a night out. With a magic view and a beautiful crowd, all you need to enjoy it fully is a 6 figure salary.

3) Lush
Lush is fun and an excellent place to meet Vietnamese girls. Many of those going to Lush are non prostitute and are looking to meet foreigners. On the downside, Lush's music is mostly mainstream and the service can be awful. It also attracts quite many backpackers.

Sin Lounge is one of HCMC's favorite party venues for models, actresses and other local celebrities. Many of the patrons are Viet Kieu (Vietnamese from overseas). They have regular events such as guest DJs, bikini dancers or fashion shows.

In District 1, other popular nightclubs and bars among younger Expats are Snuffbox, Racha Room, Blanchy's Tash Bar and Xu.
Those who are broke will stay in Bui Vien's backpacker area where you can drink a beer for less than a dollar in one of the dozens of street cafés.

Hipsters and Alternative Nightlife in Saigon
The alternative scene is thriving in Saigon. Young, hipster-like expats will typically go to The Observatory. It is quite a cool place with top electronic music DJs. It is mostly crowded with white Europeans and Americans so you won't really feel you are in Vietnam at all.

Other popular venues with this group: Saigon Lookout, Saigon OutcastCargo, DeciBel, Cube Bar, Saigon Ranger and Broma.
The Observatory

Best Live Music Venues in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City has a fair number of live music venues spread out around the city. My favourite is Maxim's in Majestic Hotel which usually features jazzy/latin tunes. Guests are invited to hit the dancefloor as well to practice with one of their professional dancers. Maxim's also has friendly woman PRs, hostesses and waitresses. Cocktails and wines are rather expensive, at least 10$ per glass.
Saigon Saigon Bar (Caravelle Hotel)
Saigon Saigon Bar in Caravelle Hotel is another popular option. Though less fancy than Maxim's, it is just as expensive. They usually have a band from the Philippines singing Top 40 and famous songs. During the week, it can be quiet but you will see it full on weekend nights. It is partly in the open-air with a nice view of the opera.
Catwalk Club is part of the casino complex called International Tourist Club, just next to New World Hotel in Central HCMC. It is luxurious as well, but the crowd more Asian. They have a Cuban and Vietnamese band.
Other recommendations:
Live Jazz Music: Sax N'Art (Daily)
Live Latin Music: Pacharan (Wednesday and Friday)
Live Rock and Top 40: Hard Rock Café HCMC
Classic Rock and Hard Rock: Yoko Bar
Alternative: Fenêtre Soleil, Carack Acoustic or Fang Pub (local bands)

In almost all of Saigon's 5-star hotels, you will have some sort of live jazzy/piano music in the evening. This is particularly true in Grand Hotel, Park Hyatt, Sheraton, Intercontinental and Lotte Legend Hotel.

If you are interested in listening to live famous Vietnamese song, you can try Sixteen Bar (16 Lê Quý Dôn, District 3) or WE lounge in the same street.

After Hour Clubbing in HCMC

My biggest disappointment with Ho Chi Minh nightlife is that bars, clubs and pubs tend to close rather early. Past 3am, if you want your night out to continue, your options will be severely limited to some of the seediest clubs and bars in town.

These include the downtown hostess bars in the Hai Bai Trung street area (see below).

Apocalypse Now (often referred by its shortened name "Apo") is probably the best late night option though it is only open until 4am. Backpackers, expats and prostitutes rock the dancefloor of this rather old-style club. The music is not very sophisticated and you'll hear mostly famous hits.
Nearby, you have Last Call, which is a small place popular with expats. There was a French man behind the bar when I was there who might be the owner.
At the heart of Saigon's backpacker district on De Tham Street, GO 2 bar and nightclub welcomes late clubbers until 6 or 7am. It is similar in style with Apocalypse, only smaller and with twice as many prostitutes and backpackers.

Picking Up Girls, Hostess Bars, Red Light Districts in Ho Chi Minh City

Vietnamese girls are typically not "easy" to pick up.  Few accept the idea of a detached one-night stand with a stranger compared to girls you would meet in some other Southeast Asian countries. You will also notice that many Vietnamese girls are still living with their parents if they are not married yet.

If you are going out with the idea of finding a girl to sleep with for the night, your best chance is in Lush, Blanchy's Tash Bar, Xu or Glow. In all these places, the women are interested to meet foreigners.  It will take a some charm, some luck and some convincing if you want something to happen though. Another option would be to try your luck with a foreign girl as there are quite many in the city either tourists or expats.
If you have no charm, no patience and no luck, you might be tempted to pay for sex. I don't know if prostitution is legal or not in Vietnam, but it is surely widespread.

In all Vietnamese nightclubs, the proportion of girls looking for money is very high. You rarely see a group of girls alone having fun and paying for their own drinks. More likely, you'll encounter groups of guys partying together with girls they have invited. Those can be girlfriends, mistresses or hostesses (rarely the wife). The 5-star hotels and casinos bars have a fair share of lady companions as well (Maxim's, Catwalk, Caravelle, etc).

In District 1, the red light district area is located near Ngô Văn Năm and Hai Bai Trung streets. It is not really hardcore compared to Bangkok for instance, and far more discreet. Places like Smileys or 29 are Vietnam's equivalent to Thailand's blowjob bars.

You also have milder hostess bars such as Voodoo next to Bitexco tower or The Office Bar (16 Huynh Thuc Khang District 1). Both usually close late. They have friendly waitresses who are not really prostitute but who might meet you after work. At the bar, they will just chat or play games (connect four in particular). You can reward them for the time spent with you by buying them ladies' drinks from which they get a percentage.

Best Luxury Karaoke in Saigon

King Karaoke in Hai Bai Trung Street could be one of the most luxurious in Saigon. You will also find top notch karaoke rooms in most of the Vietnamese clubs listed above and in all the casinos.
A Room in King 2
There is also a huge number of Japanese and Korean KTVs in Saigon's Little Tokyo on Ngô Văn Năm street. Popular venues nearby are: Gion Lounge, Mermaid, Tre Bamboo, Himitsu, Mario Bar, Cherry Club, Cat's eye, Kin No Buta, Ko Ne Ko, AZ Honda Garu Japanese Lounge, Kawano Club, Saigon Infinity 888, Jumbo, Kaku Renbo, Thien Than Kiss and many more. The kind of service provided varies depending on the establishment and the girls. Some will only accompany you to sing or to drink, some may go back with you to your hotel, and some may do more in the privacy of the karaoke room. Stocking KTV (78 Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, D1) is the most expensive of all. In there, you pay 150$ for a room + a lot of alcohol + a pretty girl who is wearing stockings. You can touch the girl but if you rip the stockings (while playing down), you must pay an extra 5$.

Two other recommendations for luxury KTVs in Saigon are Kingdom Karaoke and Avatar Karaoke.

Spas and Beauty Salons for Men in Ho Chi Minh City

You can read my complete guide: 25 Best Massage Parlours and Spas in Saigon.

Beauty Salons:
Le Duyen's beauty salons are a special breed of spas. Reserved for a male clientele (but not forbidden to women), you can get a massage, a haircut or a facewash. Each Le Duyen salon has around 20 beautiful therapists who will pamper you as if you were a king. Nothing sexual going on there, but it is certainly arousing.

There are 4 in Saigon. One of them is conveniently located downtown at 72 Truong Dinh, Ben Thanh, District 1.

Spas ++:
In District 1, it is not hard to find dirty spas. You can try My Anh for instance also located in Truong Dinh Street, near Ben Thanh market. You can also go to the area between Le Than Ton street and Ngô Văn Năm street where half of the shops are either massage parlours with special services or hostess bars. A famous one is Tokyo Spa which is a favorite for Japanese men.

Outside of District 1, you can also get a massage plus plus (massage with handjob) in Star Hotel (204, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, District 3), Lucky Massage in New Pacific Hotel (Ky Dong Street, District 3) or in Festival Massage (Cao Thang Street, District 3).

24-hour Massage Plus Plus (Happy Ending) in Saigon

Surprisingly, some naughty massage parlours in Ho Chi Minh City are opened non-stop 24-hour, everyday of the week.

Such places include Minh Tam 1 on Le Quy Don street (District 3), Minh Tam 2 (Binh Tan District) , Dai Nam (District 1) or Vien Dong Hotel next to the backpacker area in Pham Ngu Lao.

Ladies Nights in Saigon

Bars and Clubs are very generous with girls during Ladies Nights in Ho Chi Minh City. The best one is certainly the one in Lush on Tuesdays (Free Drinks for Girls until midnight). On that day, you will have an incredibly high ratio of women available per men.

Two other great Ladies Nights happen in Blanchy's Tash Bar (every Wednesday until Midnight, all you can drink mojitos) and in Fuse (every Wednesday as well, free drinks for ladies).

The Texas Beer Club has 3 ladies nights on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Girls who aren't afraid of getting fat will get free beer until midnight.
Ladies Night in Blanchy's Tash Bar
Another cool and popular event is the Saigon Soul Pool Party (every saturdays during dry season only from November to May) at the New World Hotel. Don't be fooled by the pictures though, you have a LOT more guys than girls.

Gay Nightlife in Ho Chi Minh City

I am only aware of Centro lounge and bar at the moment, which is located just next to Caravelle Hotel in Lam Son Square. There used to be a place called GQ but it closed down in the beginning of the year.

A friend is supposed to update me on the other gay bars and clubs in Saigon so I'll update this page soon.

Top Sports Bars and Expat Bars

Australian-owned Phatty's Sports Bar and Grill is one of the best choices to watch sports and socialize with fellow expats in Saigon.

The hostess bars mentioned above (particularly The Office and Voodoo) are also popular.

Similar with Phatty's, I also enjoy the old-style Hien and Bob (43 Hai Bà Trưng) and Red Bar in front of the Bitexco tower.

If you want to watch sport with a 100% Vietnamese crowd, the go to Guru Sports Bar in District 3, which is just in front of Sherbet Beer Club.

Best Rooftop Lounges in HCMC

There are several rooftop lounges in Saigon. I already talked about Glow and Chill Skybar, both of which are excellent, though pricey.

Similar to those places, you can try Air 360 Skybar (same owner as Chill Skybar) and Shri (Nguyen Thi Minh Khai).
I also visited the lounge on top of the Bitexco tower, Eon 51, but it was poorly maintained and I cannot recommend it except for the view.

UPDATE 2016: The rooftop bar at the MGallery Saigon, Social Club, is not the best rooftop to visit in the city. Great design and good crowd.

Other Saigon Nightlife Tips

Fruit baskets: In some clubs, the waiter will propose to bring you a plate of fruits when you order alcohol. Be careful as the price can be quite expensive.
Partying in Groups: Vietnamese party in groups, around a table and a bottle. The concept of mingling and blending with strangers on a dance floor is foreign to them. They also don't expect to meet a girl in a club: Either they bring girls with them already or they pay for hostesses to accompany them. In many of these clubs, you must buy a bottle minimum to enter, for instance A.C.E in District 1.

Getting Around - Parking/Taxi/Motorbike -  Taxis are cheap, don't drive if you feel a bit tipsy. The Vinasun taxi company is the most recommended. You could also rent a motorbike for your night out for around 100,000 per day (go to Bui Vien's backpacker district to do so). Vietnamese drive recklessly but the traffic at night is quite easy to manage. When you park your motorbike, always make sure that the spot is guarded. You usually pay between 2,000 and 20,000 for parking.

Minimum age for clubbing: One of the most shocking thing i saw in Vietnam is how young some people are in clubs. It is a common sight to see 5-year old children sitting next to their partying parents. For this reason, I don't feel that the age limit actually mean something. You can probably drink in any nightclub at any age provided you have enough money.
Kids in nightclubs are a common sight in HCMC
Police Raids: As drug use seems pretty common in some clubs, the police raids them from time to time. They will also check if there is prostitution taking places. 02 Gold was raided several times but it is still there so I imagine that it is possible to bribe your way out. You can read more in this article: Police Raid Saigon Nightlife.

Safety: Being a foreigner in a Vietnamese club means you will be treated like royalty. Many people will be happy to see you and they will invite you to cheer with them. I would advise to remain discreet and careful though as a situation can go from good to bad in a few seconds only. In particular, always follow the rules and show respect to the bouncers. Never ever start a fight with a local. Be extra careful when flirting with a girl: Make sure she does not have a boyfriend nearby already.

Vietnamese Girls

Vietnamese Girls are probably among the hottest, most beautiful girls in the world. In general, they are open to meeting foreigners but those who don't speak English will be shy to start a conversation.

You will see a lot of stunners in luxury clubs. Feminine, tall, thin girls wearing designer clothes and expensive jewelry are legion. Surgery is surprisingly very common: In certain elite circles, there is nothing more ordinary than getting a boob job or a nose job.

Many Vietnamese girls look always neat: Eyebrows are trimmed in dedicated salons, hairs are plaited or made to look wavy, nails are perfectly manicured. They avoid the sun like the plague so their skin is more white than milk.

In spite of being rather conservative when it comes to sex, Vietnamese girls are not afraid of showing some legs and cleavage. Mini skirts and short dresses can be extremely sexy, even during the day.

Unfortunately, the prettiest Vietnamese girls can also be heartless gold diggers, especially if you've met them in luxury clubs or bars. If you are hoping to meet a future girlfriend, stay away from them and try your luck during the day in normal places.

A recommended way to pick up great girls in Saigon is to use online dating apps. You can read my review about Online Dating Apps and Websites for more information. I wrote it for Indonesia but it is also valid for meeting girls in Vietnam.

I tried to make this review of Saigon's nightlife as long and detailed as possible. I focused mainly on the nightlife of District 1 but there are many more clubs and bars in District 7, District 3 and elsewhere. The districts of Go Vap, Tan Binh, District 12 and Hoc Mon are also full of local nightclubs, karaokes, massage parlours and bars targeting the middle class.

Since the information provided on this report will most likely evolve, your help in keeping it updated will be much appreciated. Please don't hesitate to write a comment below if you can.
