Mangia is a Western/Asian restaurant with currently two locations in Jakarta, one in Kebayoran Baru (Panglima Polim) and one in Grand Indonesia on Level 5 (on the photos above).

The first one opened a couple of years ago and it became quite successful. It is a cute café, with vintage decoration and plenty of plants. As it is in an independent building, it offers a fresh alternative to other restaurants in malls and it attracts an artsy/hipster crowd, as well as students.

The second one opened in 2014 on the 5th Floor of Grand Indonesia. It was a bit of a disappointment for me as it looks quite basic and not certainly not as original as the first one. The food is similar though. It is rather affordable with hit & misses. One of their most popular items is the Ikea Swedish Meatballs, their specialty.
Overall: I recommend the branch in Panglima Polim, but for the one in Grand Indonesia it can still be improved. I must say that I visited on the day of the opening so I am sure they are still working on it. I will be back to see the progress!
