Dallas Roadhouse Bar & Grill

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Dallas Roadhouse is a mall-type restaurant serving grilled beef and other types of American food.. Good reputation but how hard is it to grill a steak? Not really a bar also though it serves alcohol.. It is expensive, as any restaurants in Jakarta serving imported beef, but you have a 3-course dinner set for Rp. 140,000. Opening Hours: Weekdays = ( 11.30 - 24.00 ) Weekend = ( 11.30 - 01.00 ) All Day Long Happy Hour

De Hooi Cafe (Pondok Indah Plaza)

By The Jakarta Team →
An excellent bar, De Hooi was not in our listing until now only because it is located a bit far from the center, in Pondok Indah, where we seldom venture. In this part of town however, it is easily the most popular and the most happening bar, attracting a good mix of both expats and locals, in an easy going and welcoming atmosphere. Many regular customer crowd the bar and it seems like most patrons know each other already.. Live music , free-wifi, and a good menu featuring American, Indian, Dutch, Indonesian food (you can take a look at it here: De Hooi menu part 1 , part 2 , part 3 , they do delivery). If you live in Pondok Indah, this is the place where you want to go to have fun.

Ds Bar - Gogo dancers & Striptease - (Blok M)

By The Jakarta Team →
Inside DS's secret room Bar with a secret room where girls do strip-tease for 100,000rp. They have wet shirt competition and the patrons can play with water gun. Maybe the most trashy place in the Blok. Update June 2009: Apparently there is no more secret room! However, Europeans, especially French people, will be happy to learn that there is a guy selling good shawarmas just outside Ds... To my knowledge, it's the only turkish kebab in Jakarta.. at least one that looks like those we have in France.

Everest bar and pool (Jakarta Blok M)

By The Jakarta Team →
Everest is a nice bar to grab a beer in Blok M, a very popular nightlife district for expats in Jakarta. No (so many) working girls. There are sporting events on TV every night + Everest has a pool table. Rather cheap.

Face Bar Menteng

By The Jakarta Team →
Face Bar, part of the Face group, is one of the oldest bars in Jakarta. It is still popular, especially with expats and tourists, in spite of being expensive and even though dozens of similar lounges have opened all around the city. The secret of Face Bar is undoubtedly its interior design, which combines old antiques with more contemporary paintings and sculptures. It is quite small, and there are always some regulars, in particular foreign journalists. There is a pool table too but it is rarely used. There are two fine dining restaurants in the same building, each one with a theme: Lan Na Tai (Thai food) and Hazara (Indian cuisine, reviewed on this blog here ) Face bar is usually a recommended nightlife spot by many magazines/websites about Jakarta. Myself, I like to take my friends there when they come to Jakarta, because it is the kind of venue that would be popular in Europe. Don't expect something very happening though, it is a bar to chill and relax, not to party.

Fez (Expat Bar)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Fez is a popular expat bar in Kemang, owned by the same people behind Aphrodite . It is usually quite crowded, especially during sporting events. As in Aphrodite , you have some decent food (for around Rp100,000 a meal), and always a few pretty girls. You can check the food here: Menu Fez Kemang . You also have two pool tables. It is not my favourite in Kemang (I prefer Murphy's or Eastern Promises ), but still a good venue. Price for one small Heineken: Rp50,000 with taxes. Opening hours: Everyday, from 3pm to 2am (3am on weekends)

By The Jakarta Team →

Kudus Bar Jakarta (The Sultan Hotel, ex-Hilton, Jalan Sudirman)

By The Jakarta Team →
Nice classy wine bar, popular with businessmen, expats and wealthy locals. The decor is inspired by the town of Kudus, in Central Java, to make its interior Jakarta's first "Javanese wine lounge". The beautiful furniture and artefacts gives Kudus an elegant feel, without being too pompous. You also have an interesting selection of live music, from jazz to acoustic, every day from 8pm to midnight (you can check the schedule here: Sultan Jakarta Kudus Bar ). Kudus is quite expensive, but you have some interesting discounts if you come during the happy hours, from 5pm to 8pm, with 30% off on beers and soft drinks and 15% off on wines.

Loewy Bar and Restaurant (Jakarta, Kuningan: Oakwood Premier Cozmo, Jl. Lingkar Mega Kuningan)

By The Jakarta Team →
Everybody was telling me about a place called "Louis" in Mega Kunigan, but I couldn't find where it was or what it was. It took me two months to realize that people were actually talking about Loewy, that you should prononce like Loui (english speakers) or Louis (French speakers). It is retro-chic, with a cosmopolitan vibe: Half the customers are foreigners, and the other half Indonesians, usually between 30 and 45 years-old. Most of them upper-class. It is owned by some of the folks behind Potato Head , from which they took the idea to partially open the restaurant to the air. This is quite bold for Jakarta, and you may feel hot inside when it is packed. Since it opened in 2008, Loewy has always been a happening venue, anytime of the day. People go there for lunch, for brunches, for an after-work drink, and finally to party. They have decent European food, quite pricey, and a long selection of drinks, wine and cocktails. Starting at around 10pm, the music gets lo

Mad Dogs Pub and Bistro (Jakarta Cilandak Commercial Estate)

By The Jakarta Team →
Oh la la... Cilandak !! This is very far for us... but I’ve heard it’s a friendly place, with good, affordable food, pool table, beer garden and sports on TV. Very functional then, very not-french. A good place to meet expat since it is a very popular hangout place, especially for American, Australian and British older expats.

Maxi Bar (Blok M) CLOSED

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Maxi Bar opened in 2010, to replace One Tree bar . It is now owned by a guy from New-Zealand, also behind Maxi Pub in Serpong. Maxi Bar is unsophisticated, and yet with a better hygiene and decoration than most of Jalan Falatehan 's venues. You have about half a dozen waitresses in sexy outfit, very friendly I must say, but unfortunately no customers during my visit (a Wednesday night at 11pm). They also have a brand-new pool table.

Memories Cafe (Jalan Jaksa)

By The Jakarta Team →
The most popular bar in Jalan Jaksa. It has a live music band almost every night, playing a mix of favorite indonesian pop song and classic Top 40. The drinks, especially beer is really cheap, around Rp. 18,000/bottle, so you will meet many backpackers, english teachers and mid-class indonesians. Lots of gays and “professional girlfriends”, hoping to meet a boyfriend among the travellers.

Melly's Garden (Jakarta)

By The Jakarta Team →
Melly's Garden is a very popular hangout spot near Jalan Jaksa. If you are a tourist staying in the area, it is a much better choice than most of the bars located in the famous backpacker street. It is quite crowded on most nights, and the waiters may not visit your table before a moment so be patient... They have all kind of cheap snacks and food. You should stick to the local dishes, they taste much better than any of the western ones. There are some foreigners, but the majority of the patrons are young Indonesians. Overall: Recommended for the atmosphere, the open-air and the prices. Better for drinking than for eating. Advice: Bring mosquito repellent! Opening Hours: From 11am until 3AM, everyday Address: Melly's Garden has changed location. It is now Jalan Kebon Sirih Timur Dalam No 37-39 Central Jakarta Phone number: 021 91275753

Tempus - Salsa Club and Bar (Ex- Mistere in Ritz Carlton Mega Kuningan)

By The Jakarta Team →
The Live Music room in Mistere Update 2013: The new name of Mistere is Tempus.

Murphy's Irish Pub & Restaurant (Kemang)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
A newcomer in Jakarta's nightlife , Murphy's Irish Pub& Restaurant is the first of its kind in Kemang and it is actually owned by an Irish expat. Compared to other places in Kemang, Murphy is a little more "mature", not only attracting youngsters but a wider crowd of expats and locals from all ages. The warm interior and the friendly staff will make you feel comfortable upon entering the doors. Food is served all day, and I recommend you to try the house specialties: The Guiness Casserole, the Handut Chip and the Irish stew. If you come on Friday or Saturday night, a live band is playing starting 10pm. The rest of the week, you have a mix of Irish songs and classics.

My Bar or MyBar (Blok M)

By The Jakarta Team →
Girls bar with house/Rnb music. 10 girls for 1 guy ratio. Come there late and drunk if you want to have fun. It used to be the most popular place on Blok M but now it's not so good. Typical of a Southeast Asia hooker bar. Live music (rock/top 40) on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Sexy bar dancers on Friday and Saturday nights Read the review and see more photos about MyBar (Blok M) on our french blog Crazy Nights In Jakarta. My Bar Jl. Falatehan 1 no. 16, Blok M Phone number: +62-21 739 6510 Email: mybarjkt@yahoo.com

Oak Room (Hotel Nikko Jakarta)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Oak Room is quaint lounge located inside Nikko Hotel. I went there to have a quick drink after eating in the Olive Tree restaurant, and even though I would not come back, I thought it was a nice place to relax. Since the bar is quite small, almost all the sofas were taken on that evening. I guess most clients are Nikko Hotel guests since there isn't anything special to make anybody else visit. Some pop music in the background, a lot of cigarette smoke, free magazines/books, old furniture, that's about all for the atmosphere.

Oscar Pub, Bar & Live Music (Blok M in Jakarta South)

By The Jakarta Team →
Oscar used to be a little odd bar on Jalan Falatehan, but since it was renovated, I cannot help but feel like the old stuff was better... It is half-way between the Everest, a no-girls bar and the My Bar, who has only girls + a few customers.. The good thing is that the Live Bands are changing fast so if you come back once in a while, you may get lucky.. Apart from that, and to be more positive, Oscar has almost a mix crowd bule/indo, which I deem positive (more expats though). It also has a karaoke, a restaurant and a pool table. Worth saying: It has gothic nights on Fridays and Ladies nights on Saturday. More infos about events + photos on its facebook fanpage here: Oscar Falatehan. Oscar Pub Jl. Falatehan 1 No. 25 Blok M Jakarta Email: info@oscarpubjakarta.com Phone Number: +62-21 720 4707/720 2049 Website: Oscar Pub Blok M Open from 5pm to 2.30am everyday except on Sunday. Happy hours from 5pm to 9pm.

The Pub (Kemang)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Kemang had the reputation of being a place for high school kids, but with more pubs and expat hangouts opening, it is no longer true.
