Jakarta100bars started as a translation of a blog I was writing in French with a few friends, Crazy Nights in Jakarta. The idea was to explore and review Jakarta's nightlife in its entirety, from the upper-class clubs in Senayan to the trashy bars in Glodok.

As you can imagine, it was a lot of fun doing so, until I started running out of new venues to write about… For this reason, I am now mostly reviewing restaurants and when I feel like it, I add some articles about expat life in Jakarta.

I am not a true gourmet, and my English is not perfect, so I like to keep my writing short and simple to give you a straight, honest advice in only a few sentences. I always pay for my bills, I write the texts myself, and unless mentioned otherwise, the pictures are mine. Feel free to use them, as long as you link to this blog.

I added a rating system recently, which describes in a very subjective manner what was my general impression about a bar, a club or a restaurant. If you disagree with me, please leave a comment, it makes the blog much more interesting when people are sharing their experiences.
