Why Porn Websites Are Blocked in Qatar (and How to Unblock them)?

By Tibs →
If you've tried to access a porn website while in Qatar/Doha, you've probably seen the following message: "The webpage you are trying to access has been blocked by Internet Qatar as the content contains materials which are prohibited in the State of Qatar" This is actually part of a government effort to prevent Qataris to be exposed to obscene or indecent content. Considering Islam is the official religion of the country, it is hardly surprising they don't want their citizens to access the thousands of adult sites available on the World Wide Web in just one click. Unfortunately, some regular and inoffensive websites are also blocked, usually for political or religious reasons. For instance, if they criticize the government or if they promote atheism. Finally, it might be difficult to access online gambling websites, torrent websites, as well as escort services.

Why Porn Websites Are Blocked in Dubai (and How to Unblock them)?

By Tibs →
If you've tried to access a porn website while in Dubai (or elsewhere in the United Arab Emirates), you've probably seen an error message that looks like this one: Porn websites are not the only ones blocked by the government. It is also the case with any website whose content is deemed to violate the country's values. It can be because of gambling, hate speech, nudity, vulgarity, or drugs. Censorship will also affect those who criticize the government or those who promote atheism. Actually, it is forbidden to help anyone to access forbidden websites. Therefore, I wouldn't be surprised if my own website gets banned one of these days! To make sure you can still read Jakarta100bars after you've landed, just make sure you follow these steps BEFORE arriving in Dubai:

Where to Stay in Jakarta - Best Areas for Tourists (2023)

By Tibs →
If you visit Jakarta as a tourist, you are probably wondering about the best areas to stay in the city . Due to the horrible traffic and the lack of public transportation, I advise you to choose your location carefully. 1 kilometer in Jakarta is like 10 kilometer in normal cities. Just going to the opposite side of a street by car can sometimes take up to 30 minutes! If you don't have time to read my entire review , the following paragraph is a short summary: The best place to stay in Jakarta, either you are a tourist or a businessman, is around Plaza Indonesia or Grand Indonesia, for instance:  Kempinski ,  Grand Hyatt ,  Pullman ,  Mandarin Oriental . It is an expensive area though so if you are on a budget, you can stay near Sarinah Mall instead. You'll find backpacker hostels ( Jalan Jaksa ), 2-star hotels ( Favehotel ), 3-star hotels ( Holiday Inn  or  Ibis Tamarin ) and 4-star hotels ( Morrissey , Four Points by Sheraton , AONE or  Akmani ). Dubai Nightlife: Best Bars and Nightclubs (2024)

By Tibs →
Dubai nightlife is the best I've tried so far in the Persian/Arab Gulf region. Compared to that of Doha , Abu Dhabi , or Muscat , it is less conservative and far more foreigner-friendly. Even though drinking alcohol is restricted, you can find nearly a hundred bars and nightclubs, some of which are busy even on weekdays. There is a huge diversity of venues: Jazz lounges, rooftop bars, expat pubs, open-air nightclubs, beach cafés, speakeasies, etc. There is even a brand-new warehouse with Berlin-style techno parties once a month. However, not everything is perfect. The major problem with Dubai nightlife is that to enter most of the major nightclubs, single men are required to book a table. Often, this means you will need to spend up to US$500 just to visit one place. I will talk more about it in this review. If you still have questions after reading it, please leave me a comment at the end of the article!

Canggu and Seminyak Nightlife (Updated 2023)

By Tibs →
Canggu and Seminyak are now the best areas for nightlife in Bali. Below are the best bars and nightclubs there to party during your holiday: Canggu Nightlife: Where to Party? Canggu is a growing area that covers basically the north of Jalan Batu Belig (Kerobokan/Seminyak) up to Jalan Pererenan. It is popular with young foreigners in their early 20s to mid-thirties, including surfers, digital nomads, influencers, gap-year travelers, backpackers, and probably some rich kids with nothing else to do than partying. Clubs, bars, cafés, and restaurants, are spread out along the main streets, and more particularly Jalan Batu Bolong, Jalan Pantai Berawa, Jalan Semat, Jalan Subak Sari, or Jalan Nelayan. Generally speaking, the closer you go from the beach, the more fancy/trendy the venues are. The busiest party location in Canggu is certainly on Jalan Batu Bolong, near Old Man's. It can take some time to go from one street to the other as the roads are still tiny and in bad condition. Most p
