Blu at Shangri-La Hotel

By Nyoman →
Blu at  Shangri-La  is the new fancy lounge of the Shangri-La Hotel, located right next to their huge swimming pool. The main advantage with it is that you can say to your wife you want to go to Blu, then sneak in nearby  BATS  which is a lot more fun. I wouldn't go there for clubbing unless they have special events, but I can imagine it is fine for a few drinks or some light food before BATS. It is more suitable for a woman crowd probably. Opening Hours: Wednesday to Saturday from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM Blu @ Shangri-La Hotel Jakarta

Colosseum Club (1001 Hotel)

By Jakarta100bars →
Colosseum Club used to be called K7 and is now managed by the same group behind Alexis hotel and Emporium Spa. Colosseum is actually the relocation of 1001, which closed in 2012 and was replaced by Illigals...  I visited the club for the after-party of the State of Trance Tour. It is an excellent club in terms of design, lighting, sound. The crowd was rather upmarket and mixed (foreigners/Indonesians), most of them standing in groups around tables. The dancefloor is pretty small and people are not really mingling with each other. Music is generally house/EDM, with some famous DJs occasionally. The entrance fee is around IDR200,000.   Colosseum Club Jakarta (1001) Jl. Kunir No.7 Jakarta, Indonesia 11110 Phone number: 0822-7000-1001 Open on Friday and Saturday until 4am Instagram: http://instagram.com/colosseumjkt

Fable Club @ Fairgrounds (Jakarta)

By Jakarta100bars →
Fable is a new club opened in Fairgrounds (ex-Bengkel). Perfectly located in the center of the city and with an underground vibe, it has the potential of becoming a favourite of Jakarta nightlife.  They've already had some interesting events in the past few weeks, with soul & hip-hop music as the main genre. February, a reader of this blog sent me this interesting review that I'm sharing with you (Thanks to her!): "I went to Fable on a Friday night. After reading the comment on this blog, I was prepared for the hostess to be rude and dress up to the nine. To my surprise, they were very nice and friendly and what more...free entrance. I recommend the club goers to come after midnight because that’s when the party started. The music is mainstream R&B and hip hop. A little bit cheesy but the ambience is really nice: hardwood floors, sunroof top ceilings and cosy outdoor area. It is definitely the place to go for those who like the friendly crowd of

999 (Triple 9) Club (Kemang Arcade)

By The Jakarta Team →
One of the latest addition to Kemang's nightlife. I think that since I've been living in Jakarta, the club which is now called Triple 9 has changed names at least three times. Just before that, it was called Dizzy Lounge . Apart from the changes of name, it is the same as before: a basic, large dancefloor with a lively party atmosphere, a bar in the center, electro music, DJ & VJ, many high school and college students (a lot more guys than girls), and prices that are not too bad. One of the best night clubs in Kemang (I also like Nu China ). There is a 50,000rp entrance fee (on weekends at least) with free drink included. Lots of special events: Check their facebook fanpage  Triple Nine Kemang  or their twitter:  http://twitter.com/#!/Triplenine999 . To keep up with the competition, they also bring some sexy dancers on occasion.

Beyond Lounge (Jl Iskandarsya, in front of Pasaraya Grande)

By The Jakarta Team →
Lounge/club with house music. We got kicked out for no reasons, just after buying four long islands, because a customer (apparently the manager of Dewa) didn't like us. I'm sure it's good though. Blowfish Bar & Nightclub Jakarta + Puro Ristorante (Wisma Mulia, Gatot Subroto)

By The Jakarta Team →
Blowfish is one of the most popular club among the Jakarta elite, with Dragonfly and now Immigrant , and a classic of Jakarta's nightlife. Lots of Chinese people, some expats as well, and many beautiful girls with expensive dresses and perfect hair. It's glam until 3am, then everybody is drunk. It seems most people don't really go to Blowfish to have fun, but rather to be seen, a glass of Champagne (mixed with Sprite to make it more sweet) in the hand. The music is good though, usually Rnb and on weekends it's always crowded. The club has foreign DJs regularly, and good ones, making it a very happening night club. Apart from the bar and the club, there is an excellent italian restaurant , Puro, with a modern but expensive Italian menu.. It is owned by Ismaya group, who's also behind Dragonfly, Sushigroove, Social House and the future Ministry of Sound Jakarta . You can check their website for all events related to this nightlife spots: Ismaya Group Indonesia

Musro Night Club and Bar (Menteng, Hotel Borobudur)

By The Jakarta Team →
MusRo is one of the oldest nightclubs in Jakarta, since 1983. It reopened in December 2007, with an ambition to attract "models and actresses" but unfortunately for them, it is not as popular as it used to be. There are still some loyal customers though, in particular clubbers from the gay and lesbian community, and since the music is quite good, I think it is worth checking at least once. It is usually empty during the week, but on weekends and for special events it is better. To make sure it is happening, you may check their facebook page for special events: MusRo Borobudur . If you come early, they have live music, followed by a DJ around midnight. When the DJ is on, it looks like that (on a Wednesday night): Opening hours: Closed on Monday

Palladium Club (Hotel Kaisar)

By The Jakarta Team →
Located in Hotel Kaisar, Palladium Club is an aging club but it still has a fair number of fans. Almost all patrons are local people.

Venue Kemang (Jl. Kemang Selatan No. 2)

By The Jakarta Team →
The Venue is a popular lounge in Kemang, especially with young students and kids from the international schools. Drinks are cheap, but i'm not 100% sure the alcohol is genuine. Small swimming-pool in the back where you can throw yourself to. Starting 10pm on weekend, a DJ is spinning progressive and house music. Facebook profile: The Venue

X2-Equinox-Diagonale-Ego Lounge (Plaza Senayan) - CLOSED

By The Jakarta Team →
Update 2018: X2 is now closed. They will reopen shortly with a new name and new concept. Check their Instagram for more information:  https://www.instagram.com/x2clubjakarta/ This review about X2 was updated in July 2011: The X2 club is South Jakarta's biggest night club complex, featuring in the same building one restaurant and four different party areas, each with a different theme and a different music. To me it is a more acceptable version of Kota’s big one-stop entertainment nightclubs, without the naughty side, but with the very same all-in-one concept and the same appeal among Indonesians. It is owned by the Lifestyle Unlimited Group, also the owner of the clubs Vertigo and X-Lounge (now closed), of the karaoke X-KTV, and of the restaurants Shabu Tei and Charcoal.
