The best budget hotels in Central Jakarta offer incredible value for money. For less than 25$, you will get your own clean room with private shower, AC, hot water, quality mattress and flat screen TV.

If you are looking for the cheapest room price for a stay near the Golden Triangle (Gatot Subroto - Rasuna Said - Sudirman streets), your best option is to book through RedDoorz, a fast-expanding budget hotel management chain. RedDoorz hotels are usually independently-owned small residences (kos in Indonesian) that were until now very difficult to book from internet.

They offer limited facilities and amenities, but if you are just hoping to sleep well, shower and watch TV, they will do the job just fine. All of their properties have a service guarantee that includes free wifi, 24-hour support, free water and toiletries, sanitized washrooms and quality linen. You can get an additional discount by booking directly with them on or by downloading their app on Android store for a 50% cashback.

Some RedDoorz properties do not allow extra femaile guests or couples if they are not married. If you need a guest-friendly hotel in Jakarta, you can read my guide: 16 Cheap Girl-Friendly Hotels in Jakarta.

Since this is a blog about nightlife, I also made sure that the hotels I chose were located near Jakarta's best bars and clubs. All of them are also guest-friendly to a reasonable extent.

RedDoorz near UOB Plaza
RedDoorz near UOB Plaza is good choice for a pocket-friendly hotel in Jakarta. It is right in the center, next to the Transjakarta bus station and walking distance from Grand Indonesia and Plaza Indonesia. It is a small property with 20 rooms only, a restaurant and a friendly staff.

The amenities provided are minimal and you need to pay a Rp300,000 deposit at check-in, but you can hardly beat their price with this location.

RedDoorz Hotel Near WTC Sudirman
This is a basic hotel but again, with a great central location. Jalan Bek Murad is just behind Sudirman street, which can be easily accessed through the World Trade Center office park. In terms of nightlife, you are just a few minutes away from Mega Kuningan and from the malls Kuningan City, Ambassador and Lotte Mall.

RedDoorz @ Guntur Setiabudi
This hotel is not as centrally located as the two other mentioned above, but it is still within 10 minutes taxi from Plaza Indonesia and 15-20 from Senayan. You can also walk to Jalan Rasuna Said pretty easily. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood with quite many street food options and a few authentic markets (for instance Pasar Rumput). Another good point is that the hotel is very affordable. It is a small, cozy property with only 10 rooms.

RedDoorz @ Karet Setiabudi
Karet in Setiabudi is famous for having dozens of cheap residences for young executives and students. It is not far from Rasuna Said street, and particularly from Pasar Festival Mall, Taman Rasuna, Epicentrum and Setiabudi One. It is also very strategic for long stays as you have some internet cafés, laundries and plenty of street food.

RedDoorz at Karet Setiabudi is a bit more expensive than the other hotels mentioned here, but still reasonable at around 25$ per night. Its rooms are really comfortable with a large bed, clean linen, hot water, flat screen TV and free WIFI.

RedDoorz @ Sarinah
Sarinah is a great location for travelers to Jakarta. It is close from Jalan Jaksa, Monas, Gambir train station, Plaza Indonesia, Bunderan HI, the National Museum, etc. It is also a great place to get street food, in particular on Jalan Sabang.

RedDoorz @ Sarinah costs around 25$ (including the discount from directly booking on their website). Rooms have large beds, AC, fridge, plenty of storage space, free WIFI and satellite TV.
