SKYE is the latest venue opened by the Ismaya Group, and for this reason, we can guess it will be the place to be in Jakarta for at least the next 3 months.

The Menara BCA has 57th floor and is 230 meters high. Located on its 56th floor, SKYE's main attraction will obviously be the view over the city's skyline. The history of rooftop bars and restaurants in Jakarta has shown mixed results, with most places now closed (Vertigo, Kampus, Pure, Cilantro, etc...). I wish more success for SKYE.

At the time of writing, SKYE is probably the most spectacular venue in Jakarta and this is why I recommend you to try it. Expect a fancy crowd, and of course sky-high prices...

  1. I'm not normally a fan of Ismaya group venues, but they really outdid themselves this time...

Singapore and Bangkok have plenty of these outdoor rooftop bars and it was time Jakarta had its own..

I went to SKYE yesterday, the crowd was great, so many hot girls and socialites. Did try the food but the cocktails were great and the view really, really amazing.. Top recommendation for me in Jakarta...

  2. can i know the price range?

  3. They are divided into 2 section :
    - Dining
    - Outdoor bar

The outdoor bar's price aren't bad. still reasonable i think.
    foods start from 50k up
    beers start from 45k up
Reasonable for a good view in my opinion.
Btw, make sure you bring a jacket, cause its cold in the inside and very windy on the outside.

Haven't try the dining yet, but from what i've heard it's "sky high".
rumor has it for 6 person, minimum spending is IDR 6 mil (don't know if this is true or not)

Still, a very highly recommended place, since there aren't much places in jakarta that offer a view like this.

  5. I went to Skye last thursday, the guy I went with said that we should NEVER eat there because the food tastes so bad. Prices are pretty reasonable and theres quite a big selection of food, however the service is so poor! My friend complained 5 times, we had to wait over 30 minutes for drinks and then got given the wrong drinks, the staff where afraid to approach us because they didnt speak english well! We ended up having to talk to the south african manager at the venue. However the drinks did taste good! and the view was amazing! In skye's defense, after we complained the manager did everything under the sun to keep us happy, handled the situation well!

  6. These guys are loosing money...It takes 20 minutes to get a drink when I drink my drink in 5 minutes (so they are loosing money)
Also they need some aircon on the outdoor terrace....Other than that its a great place....

  7. Just went there yesterday..I had a so so choco pie bar as a dessert with small portion..although my friend had a plate of Smores (which is actually pretty rare in Jakarta) and it tasted great! Maybe I was just unlucky on that choco pie bar..the view is awesome tho'!

  10. This should be a good and professional restaurant but soooo difficult to get them on the phone. Tried to call the above number, but she only gave me answer "indeed the phone is difficult to be reached, and better for you to come there" not a solution at all.

  11. I would recommend the resto to hire a better PR or at least a nicer and helpful one.. the current one makes my ear rings of annoyance.. Pretty PR alone wont help your business buddy.. she should be helpful (AT THE VERY LEAST).. i am very surprised for a fancy resto not to up its customer service.. fully book cannot make reservations.. cannot even add one more chair cos the table is in a triangle shaped.. pheww.. once is enough..

  13. I was at SKYE yesterday for a late lunch with my friends, and after the meal we wanted to take some pictures outside at the skye bar/lounge.. , when we got there, the lady at the door said that my friend who wears a "jilbab" (head cover) was not allowed entry because there is a regulation prohibiting anyone wearing a "jilbab" to enter after 6 pm ..., funnily enough we could clearly see one lady wearing a "jilbab" seated at a table inside., showing how inconsistent and ineffective the regulation is.
It is also a very discriminating and offensive regulation to have at what is supposed to be a high end and international restaurant

    2. "regulation prohibiting anyone wearing a "jilbab" to enter after 6 pm"

The jilbab person "enter" before "6pm" and stay there for hours and hours.

regulation said "enter", once you're there you can stay there. ;)
so, jilbab: go there before 18:00 and stay inside as long as you want.

  20. I had a bad day at skye. I went to have dinner with my friends last tuesday. My other friend brought her niece with her. Before we had dinner inside the restaurant, we were planning to go see the outdoor/lounge at first. But my friend's niece couldn't get through the lounge for some reason, just because she was wearing jeans and sneakers. The girl (Wiwid) who was standing at the lounge said you have to be dressed up if want to go inside. Well we understood with their rules, but I was surprised when someone else came in with jeans and the sneakers as well. And some other girl only with sport dress (tennis dress). Wiwid let them in,.. What the hell??? What kind of regulation is it? I talked to Wiwid and I can tell how she handled the costumer was very BAD, she walked away while I complained. Not good food at all, too expensive compare with other nice restaurant with a good taste.
And using the under age policy?? Common, it is not going to work in Jakarta, as we know, who like to hang out mostly are teenagers. Well good luck for skye!

  23. Nice place. Hostess service is bad though. Ismaya needs to train these people to give better service or get better people.

  24. Awesome place with good vibes and great view. Expensive as expected, but it is really not worth it because of the service. The service is TERRIBLE. They are fairly new and still haven't figured out anything. I recommend going at least once but be prepared to have your order messed up, or wait 30 minutes for a simple vodka with tonic.

  26. Today i called to Skye for reservation. It was not that hard to get online with them, BUT i was disappointed by the way the receptionist answer my queries. She sounded in a hurry and the music background was quite disturbing me hearing her explanation. The way the receptionist answered was considered not polite enough for such a hip n high class restaurant. I ended my conversation with no clarity of how to do reservation, coz she once said for outdoor seat, i did not have to do reservation. It did not make sense. Will i really get seat when i reach there tomorrow (sat nite)?

Skye does need to train their hostess, receptionist, and staffs. Otherwise, people will come only once to try but will not get positive experience.

  32. Went there last week and it was the worst experience in my life until now. Specially knowing that you gonna spend your money there the service can IMPROVE big time! Reservations can only be done either one week upfront or if they know you (than it can be done 5 mins before arriving) One BIG bloody shame!
Place is nice, views are great but if this is the way the owning group wants to compete with Singapore Rooftop bars n lounges They might wanna spend a little money and send their staff over to look and learn!
Service is LAZY and BAD, food was drained with frying oil and taste-less.

For sure if they keep on this so called service and dinner they're bound to be closed before years' end...

  33. As with other comments above, staff need to be retrained or replaced here, especially on the door.

After being impressed on my first visit, I tried to go for a second visit with a friend on mine. My friend got rejected at the door on account of not wearing a collared shirt (he was in a nice v-neck for the record and was allowed into all other "high class" venues we visited that night without question).

I would have been ok with this if it was not for the fact that the bar was visibly full of others in similar t-shirts (indicating discrimination or inconsistent application), and the written door policy said that collared shirts were required as opposed to "preferred". Of course pointing these facts out to the girl on the door (in Indonesian) got me nowhere.

Needless to say I won't be in a rush to go back.

  36. As with other comments above, whether we enjoy the food and service in a restaurant is purely subjective, after all. One person’s over-boiled cabbage is another’s ambrosia. Just because someone doesn't likes it, does that mean we will? Let’s face it, some of you were acting like Michelin inspectors (if you know what i mean). and by the way I've been there, can't wait to come back. Love the place, the crowd and the atmosphere .... especially the outdoor lounge

The only time you're allowed in when wearing jeans is when you know someone working there, so you'd get like special access :D

  47. I went to Skye for a friends birthday. She had booked a table in the outdoor area. I must say the decor and view were very nice. However like most of the other people that commented, the staff and food quality isn't so great, nor are their inconsistent rules. It was very hard for all my friends to find our table because the staff didn't seem to point them to in the right direction. The food selection for the outdoor area was very limited. Though some dishes were nice, the food shouldn't be so expensive, cuz it was only average. I brought a camera and I was able to snap a few shots of the view. The next time my friends and i wanted to take pictures they said no one was allowed to bring semipro camera's in and that I couldn't use it to take pictures, but a normal digital camera was fine. ?? one of my friends who was married wanted to come with her husband and baby. but when we asked if the baby could enter, they said that children under 14 or 15 weren't allowed on the outdoor area. so my friend came came alone, and her family had to stay home. really what's the matter with having children out there? overall it was a nice evening, but it was ruined by these limitations that are totally unnecessary.

  48. Wow! I (Indonesian female 27 yo) was there in the early of September, on weekdays and it was packed with a fancy crowd - expats, pretty Indonesian girls / socialites, and the young executives -
Seeing lots of negative comments about the place especially the service, I am quite surprised as I didn't get that at all. Well, I didn't even know if they are either friendly/nice/helpful/well-trained OR bad/lazy/arrogant/discriminate, as I only made contact with the staff when I made my order. I ordered that dragon fruit cocktail, and they served me for only 10 mins. The cocktail came in a medium size martini glass, it tastes unique as I never thought that dragon fruit can be the ingredient for a margarita kind of drink. We also ordered a choco pie bar, the taste was not really a stellar as we know that we wanted to enjoy the place, ambience, and spectacular view, good taste of the choco pie bar would be a nice bonus. My other friends ordered a kind of milkshake with crushed oreo on top, watermelon juice, and iced cappucino. The total for all that we had to pay was nearly 550K. As of the unfriendly PR, I honestly didn't get that. They just asked if I have made any reservation, and I said no but I have a group of friends (all Indonesians age of 25-27) who already at the outdoor lounge area. One of them even escorted me to find my friends. Overall, I had a nice experience. We took some pics, no problem at all. Even the waiter lent me his lighter until we left the place. Consider it was just my lucky day? I don't know. I will go there again this Friday, 28th of Sept with a different group of friends. This time will be only Indonesian ladies, and we want to check once again to see if it was just my lucky day or I always get luck at SKYE :)

PS: I emphasize once again that we are all Indonesians, no expats, and we are not a socialites look a like at all. So we actually had no particular reason whatsoever to be prioritized. I am also not working at Ismaya Group or representing anyone nor certain community :)

  50. I was at Skye Bar last week and have no complaints. Admittedly it was late at night. The views are spectacular. I have a dinner booking there for tomorrow night so will report back on the experience - good, bad or indifferent. Interestingly though, as a Jakarta expat, I have been to many Ismaya venues, and find the levels of service to be consistently poor, and the problem of staff with limited English skills is pretty common at their venues, especially compared with places like Loewy and Union, which are both highly professional (and run by the same guy).

  51. Further to my previous post, I went back to Skye Bar last night with my girlfriend and had another great night. First, we had a light dinner at the restaurant. We selected from the Japanese menu and had no complaints. The food was good and the wine list is excellent and well priced by Jakarta standards. We then moved to the bar area, which was crowded, but again the staff were attentive. I did not really pay attention to other drink prices as we were able to select a second bottle of wine from the restaurant wine list. Prices were about 700,000++ for a Moss Wood SSB and 600,000++ for a Grosset Riesling. By Australian standards, these are both upper scale white wines and the prices are comparable to restaurant prices in Australia. Given the prohibitive taxes on wine in Indonesia, I was really quite surprised by how competitive the prices are, especially given that it is such a high class venue. And of course the views are spectacular. As an overall package, this would have to be one of Jakarta's top venues, and I have been to most of them! I suspect some of the service issues raised by earlier posters on this site have been addressed by management. Sure, the food is not "spectacular" - if you are after top shelf food, go to Amuz or Emilie. But I don't think this is what the Skye Bar aspires to, and it is reflected in the pricing. In my view, neither the food nor wine is expensive when all is taken into account. An excellent night out, helped by being with such a beautiful woman of course!! One final note: those looking for Adam will find plenty to choose from in the bar area! But hey, it's Jakarta, and that's only what you'd expect. And it's fair enough for them to have a strict dress code - anywhere of this type will do so, and there will always be some inconsistencies in how it is applied

  57. So first impression of Skye was good, only went in the lounge area, after all the reviews I gave the restaurant a miss, view was fabulous, we used an enthusiast's camera :) to take some pictures which turned out nicely.
Drinks we stuck to the beer, not that i'm cheap just it was this kind of night. Prices are european/middle eastern level ~£7 $10 for a drink or more so no drama really. Music was ok, For that type of venue I would personally prefer something more Hed Kandi/Chillout but the RnB vibe was fine. I will go back again with some friends for sure if only to start the night with that view!

  58. I wÉnt to SKÝE yesterday with a friend of mine. I already know about the regulation applies after 4pm. For men : fashionable attired required,no shorts,no sandals,no torn down sneakers,no tank tops, collared shirt preferred. So I well prepared :d

But when I had a dinner there.. I have BAD Experience.

"SON in the Law" have a poor taste. Its like an ommelette but its too oily and the Curries I ordered too sweet and salty. And also the appetizer so BAD. I'm not order for dessert since d Greentea Latte I ordered can't compared with S***B***S my favorite. So I won't to order ice cream.

For 2 main course, 1 appetizer, 1 greentea and 1 glass of wine they cost me at 550K and I spend 360K for 2gls of Juice, 1 ginger Mojito and 1 el dieblo.

    Overall.. This my experience!!

    View= 9/10
    Food= 5/10
    Service= 7/10
    Cocktail= 7/10

  59. I went to Sky over 25 times I guess, so I think I have something to add which is not based on a one time experience. In general I would say the place is great and a must visit when you stay in Jakarta. I always bring my business friends and relatives here and they enjoy the views, drinks and the beautiful (female) crowd, mainly Chinese by the way.
I agree that the service is far below what you may expect. It takes long before you can order and it takes forever before you finally get your drink. Last Tuesday the bar reached for me their lowest point; 11 PM I couldn’t order red wine any more. No stock, sold out……an upscale bar out of red wine…no further comments.

As long as the drinks are OK and there isnt so much gula in the mix drinks then the place is fine.

Stop complaining and keep the place alive. Its one of the only MELLOW nightlife view place that Jakarta has to offer as attraction.

  76. I had to add to all those bad experiences. I have waited for the day to go to see the view in skye. Me an my friends had dinner in the restaurant and so far the servise was good. The problem was when I want to go to check for the view in the lounge, the receptionist girl disallowed me to get in and not saying the word politely and not answering to my question of which part of my dress that are inappropriate. (For note: I was wearing a nice shirt and already appropriate according me). After I insist, she was then usher me in and say I only have 1 minute. She really look down at me, and can't say the reason exactly.

For management, u should really train ur receptionist. They are the face of the company. U cannot treat a customer like that.

  78. the food wasnt that good (considering the price) and it wasnt worth it at all. but the ambience was amazing and a doozy place for hangout. but if youre looking for food, dont put your expectation too high cos the meal is just disappointing.

  79. i agree with all the bad comments. actually i went there to celebrate my birthday with my family so all of us dressed up formally. But when i went inside i saw the receptionist/PR refused to let a teenage couple in because of the way they dressed (i guess they came to skye after hanging out at GI so they had casual outfits).

the waiters are also rude. they were so ignorant and in a hurry even when the restaurant is not crowded at all. it's like the waiters want us to order, eat, and leave as fast as possible. what kind of service is that??

receptionists, MIND YOUR MANNERS. You work in a fine-dining restaurant but your attitude is worse than waiters in food courts. At least give a smile, hello n goodbye to the customers. Managers, i hope you get rid of those 3 bitches in the front desk n replace them with better ones.

  80. no comment on the food though, because almost every fine dining restaurants in jkt needs to improve their food taste n quality.

  81. Awmsome view, but not too recomended.. And this is me saying -saynosuke. Food so so, drinks well nice, price average to expensive, service.. Mm i dont talk much with any of em. But hey its normal i guess, but i have to agree they need to put up more smile and greetings for a high end place like this.

I'd say i'll go back for the view, but bot because of the resto itself. Its nice to sit n hang out inthere..

Hopefully this would set some straight answers for all of u..

  82. Skye was very disappointing for me, because the rules are not clear for the dress I was rejected for two times.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Very not recomended place... Expensive place but cheap waiters.... They never clear with dress code so they make they own rule thought they the most expensive and good in dress come on girls wake up we are your customer

  84. Like many things in Indo, this place is all image. One of a kind view in Jakarta but if you're hungry and wanna eat something good with your chick don't bother. However, if you wanna have some drinks and a light bite, this place is great. Don't complain about price, top of the building restaurants especially in a new highrise in HI is gonna be costly. If you're too cheap, go somewhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  85. This restaurant is OVERRATED, price is affordable considering other restaurants in the vicinity, BUT their SERVICE IS SO BAD & UNPROFESSIONAL. Food and snacks taste NORMAL, NOTHING special and extraordinary. I gave SKYE a second chance when I visited the 2nd time and its still a disappointment. WONT come for the 3rd time.

  86. Bad service
    Rude staff
    Bad quality of food
I can find better quality of drinks in other bar.
    That's it.

  87. For SKYE you will need your best custom made suits to attract the ladies. I sure will be there, dress to impress to mingle.

  88. Dear everyone,

I went twice to Sky. I never really enjoy the service either the food... Even to be honest, pretty disappointed coz it certainly could be better...
But you should hold a little bit your insulting comments, some respect to the people never kill anyone!!!
I see most of comment writing in English, so I suppose that you all compare with your country. Hahaha if it is better in your country, why don't you go back there! See, easy to fix your issue…
Jakarta and Indonesia is a place growing and growing, so as you young child, it will be adult one day. Then don't be surprised then if one day Indonesian bit western people and give back all this anger!!! Personally I feel shame while I read all these comment full of insults!!!
Internet is not free down for people who wants split their anger‼!
By the way I'm western Foreigner ...
@Sky team, you definitely need to improve your service and food, but you can make it as long you keep head up!!!

  89. Pretentious place, just typical other high end places in Jakarta. I think I will just go back to my warung tegal aja :)

    ReplyDelete
  90. Pretentious place served by low class biatch who think they are cool sh*t. If you cannot be nice to your customers, then maybe you should work in a jail instead of working in a hospitality industry.

  91. I was looking for skye phone number, and then I endedup here. Spent 10mins reading these comments, then I decided to look for another place.

  92. Skye is only good view but not for services..when I was reserved for dinner everything is oke but when I came at skye, damn!!! my reservation isn't available, its so bad.then i complaint to all staff about more 30 minutes I'm still waiting at lounge, because the table already used with other person.crazy! Nothing special taste and not balance with the price and service.good service and satisfied customer is the more important than everything..

    ReplyDelete
  93. Really disappointed with this resto and bar. The service was so poor and they didn't show good response for they customers. The staffs (guy and lady) who stand in the reservation place, are not friendly to customer, and they should not in their position, really inappropriate, the staff who serve in another restaurant more better than them! It is unfortunate a good view with the bad service.

I went to this place with my bf and my bff, and we can ensure that our visit will be our first and last visit. This place is not recommended for others. Thanks!

  94. Ive been to skye many times for some occasions and yes the place is extraordinary, one of the best place to spend, maybe? The service is adequate and i wonder how people get easily upset for minor mistake, i know you pay expensive for savory food and service,, but everytime i went there, they keep improving.... So, i think skye is good place to spend...

    ReplyDelete
  95. Wow, there are so many complaints here. It scares me to go there.

    ReplyDelete
  96. are there any hookers in skye bar :))

    ReplyDelete
  97. All complaints above don't reflect my experiences at SKYE. I had some nice experiences there

Like to go to SKYE before nightclub in weekends. Staff is willing to propose some interesting clubs if im out of ideas. I don't know where all the bad reactions come from. Maybe you look like arrogant people? When i order food or drinks the staff allways helps accordingly and the drinks are quickly served to your table. Even if you don't tip them, the next time you come they are equally as nice as the last time.(which in itself is quite astonishing in Indonesia)

I can't argue the food issues because the price/quality isn't that good compared to other 'high end' venues.

To answer the dirty mind above my post, One of the reasons i like SKYE, there are not so many prostitutes.(maybe there are but at least they don't show off or get obnoxious with you)

I Directly tell them that we got no reservation and we would like for a table
It was raiN ,so we go to the dining area
one of them escort us to our table
    Everythin Seems good so far
The things Is,the food should b much better..and won't take that long to come..
more over those waiters r silly.. he have to call his senior Who speak English only to take our order..

  101. Spend the evening in Social House for nice dinner and wine. Around midnight go to Skye bar for a drink or two, enjoy the view of the city and anything else you care for. It is a place worth a visit for an hour if you are visiting Jakarta.

  102. very confuse to go there or no. some say positive, and much tell the negative about that place

  103. The PR lady is a total ASS! Not very friendly at all! The most incompetent PR person I gave ever encountered...!

    ReplyDelete
  104. I've never felt compelled to write negative comments but my experience at Skye tonight warrants one. A group of us (age range 30s to 40s, mix of Indonesians and foreigners) wanted to go to the bar to have drinks. We were dressed "smart casual" (or so I thought!) but apparently we weren't on par with Skye's standard of fashionable. We were told by the lady manning the entrance that all the ladies (that's 3 of us, including me) weren't "appropriately dressed."

Granted, Skye remains the right to refuse customers, but my main issue is the lack of satisfactory answer/explanation. For example, my friend asked the (lady) manager "What's wrong with what she's wearing?" (pointing to me) --- and the lady didn't say anything. Just said that it's not "smart casual evening." And when I asked "So what constitutes 'smart casual evening wear', then?" She said, "Well personally for me, it could be blazers and paired with jeans and heels." WTF?!? Seriously???

I wore a short layered dress, blazer, tight black pants, and shoes with kitten heels. And a medium-sized clutch. One of the girls wore heels, a tank top, and a short skirt; and the other a long-sleeved batik top, pants, and ballet flats (perhaps the most "under-dressed" one among us?).

And what REALLY got me pissed off was when she further explained, "Well we have a dress code and it's for a bar, so we need to consider what is appropriate for the bar." And she was looking at me all the while saying that. I wear the hijab, btw. SO -- at that remark, I think my jaw dropped a good few inches. Was she really implying that SIMPLY because I wear the hijab, that's a strike against me being permitted entrance?

    Unbelievable.

I had had a long day and simply refused to waste my energy getting angry at somebody who is arrogant, disrespectful, and narrow-minded beyond belief.

Bottom line: I would NEVER go back to Skye unless it was a matter of life and death (i.e. fat chance of that happening!!).

For those of you still curious about what the "Skye hype" is all about? Meh. Dont' bother. Especially if you've been to high-rise buildings in other countries.

Restaurants and bars, to me, is first and foremost about good and friendly service. Treating your customers with respect. Not acting PRETENTIOUS. The quality of food and drinks is of course important, but the service would always, always outweigh all other considerations.

Oh. The ironic thing is, just before we went to Skye, our group had just attended a "smart-casual" dinner hosted by one of the Directors of Bank Indonesia. Hence my British friend's surprise about not being on par with Skye's dress code standard.

  105. went for a drink and food last night. They serve cocktails with hardly any alcohol in it. Don't make a joke and ask for your next drink more taste, then the put a double one on your bill with a double high grazy prize. Such a shame to make money! I never go again: poor service, poor food.....there are better places in jakarta to hang out.....

  112. Definitely never going to skye again!

  113. I went to check it out. Not really comfortable tables, environment to eat. The outside bar is quite small and not worth the view money. Service was slow even when there were not to many people. I would not go again. The concept is good and i hope others will follow, but they didnt fullfill their potential.

  114. my 2nd review for this bar..
hell, i wonder why lot of people complaining about this place, they never give me such a hard time here..
the 3 ladies on the front r nice even without reservation

it was full, they place us near the aisle coz theres no "none minimum charge" available in the outdoor area
    its not comfortable indeed
so we move to the small sofa in front of the pool, they charge 1.5million if im not mistaken
we had around 9 scotch, cola and around 4 gin, tonic for me, 1 mineral water, 1 their home made cake (with something they serve with baby leaf, they r cute i should admit)
and it cost us around 2 millions
wonder is it worthed or not, but u r there to pay for the view anyway

our waiters im forget his name (sorry, should be give him a good recommendation) is kinda smart even with a poor english, and know what to fill our glass with, without saying our order again and again. and even so caring to set a fan for me bcoz its lil bit hot
hei! the key for a fast service is to pick one waiters to serve ur table...simple

i also dont get any problem with the dress code at all~
my mate use his jeans, t-shirt ,and his sport shoes
while im in my casual dress n kitten heels

    ReplyDelete
  115. I went there in september 2013. Even with reservation i had to wait. The food was good. Service took ages. I do not find it an intimate or entertaining atmosphere. Outside area is quite small. Not worth the money they charge, but up to you.

  116. cukup ok kok..

  117. I called the reservation today and the reservation really unfriendly.... They should give coaching to their staff about how to give a good service to customer. So Bad, They seems don't care about that.

  119. Beberapa bulan lalu dari Skye bersama teman kantor ( 6 pax incl me ) . Dinner di restaurant ( spent about 5 million), dan setelah itu ke lounge dan duduk di sofa ( dengan min spend 1.5 million). Dengan minum beberapa gelas alkohol & cocktail we all spent about 2.5 million. ( Termasuk tempat yang mahal ).
Over all food was good, drinks also good. Service nya biasa aja. Sangat disayangkan banget..

    ReplyDelete
  120. for cocktails go to Face Bar across the street, had better quality drinks for a reasonable price and music (skye) too loud. view might be nice but smog is not what i like to see

    ReplyDelete
  121. Had bad experience with Skye's service around 1.5 year ago but today I really miss to see Jakarta's view from above. I was about to break my own promise to never ever visit this place again, but I first try to find out if they are still the same here. So I read the comments. Those reminded me of how angry I was that evening.

All negative comments that I read here summarized my past experience: rude, snobbish usher/greeter at the entrance (who are too obviously way so much friendlier to 'bule' guys than to Indonesian girls), the long time that I spent to wait for our orders ready, and the only so-so taste of foods.

It is too bad that apparently Skye hasn't changed. It might still be the place with the best view in town, but the overall service is falls far below many customer's expectation.

  122. If you don't like Skye, go to Cloud!May 26, 2014 at 2:03 AM

Cloud has a better view than SKYE and the service is much nicer... For me it is the best rooftop bar in Jakarta!

  129. I just reserved my table for this Saturday night. Sadly, most of the comments here are partly true. I called the official number on the website for 3 times until I finally directed to the right person. The first operator was unclear and I dropped my phone on the first 20 seconds. The second operator was even worse, she just hold my phone after I told her that I wanted to reserve. And finally, the 3rd operator found it right. The reservation was fast and easy. All I needed to do was just giving them information on when will I reserve the table, my name and my phone number. Based on my experience, I think not all of the operators are well trained and this kind of service does not match the big name Ismaya has.

  130. Last night access to the bar, was denied to me and my guests (2 members of a diplomatic mission) by the front staff by rude and impolite manners and different excuses, not suitable to a class bar.

Nobody of us was wearing sandals, shorts, flip flop, colourful t-shirts and anything mentioned in Sky bar regulation, the 2 staff members, were selecting customers, basing on their own personal criteria, referring nervously that we were not matching the “the general dress code”.

As far as I know, a general Saturday evening dress code, is a general one, not based on personal “criteria” of the staff and should be applicable to any customer, but as I saw yesterday night, people wearing jeans, colourful shirts, and one under age guy were allowed to access to the bar.

As far as I know the staff of a class bar, should not deny the access to a customer making him understand nervously that he/she can not understand what is clearly written in the bar regulation because, maybe, he/she in not fluent in English.

In past, I visited Sky bar with other guests and that I am familiar with its regulation.
Since the situation created last night was very embarrassing for me and my guests, I don't suggest to anybody to have business discussions at Sky Bar.
