SushiGroove restaurants are usually located in malls and target young executives and students.
They do not serve excellent food and it's expensive, but the place is usually busy and fun for hanging out. Their menu is creative, the setting is funky and the service friendly: Is it worth paying the premium? I think that SushiGroove is fine for a short meal on the way to the movie, but for anything more serious (especially a date), it is too similar to an expensive fast-food and should be avoided.
Oh and by the way, in case you didn't guess, the food is Japanese, mostly sushis.

I totally agree, it should be avoided because there are many sushi restaurants which his taste better and with more reasonable prices .. other than that I do not like to fushion sushi, I prefer the authentic sushi
ReplyDeleteYou just don't go to any Sushi restaurants at Malls or franchise ones. Go to block M area, there are so many good sushi place (authentic sushi, fresh fish, many varieties, and the list go on). I only go to sushi place where the sushi chef is Japanese.

I must admit that SushiGroove is not the best sushi resto chain in Jakarta. It's more expensive than other medium-class sushi resto, their fushion sushi tasted average OK, but their original sushi is not better than any other resto. But it's still OK to hang out with friends who are not hardcore sushi lover.
ReplyDeleteBlokM area is still the best place to find authentic sushi, but most local people avoided BlokM these days because considered it as "red light district" and too old fashioned.
I think they're upgrading the sushi taste.
