CJ's is the bar of the Mulia Hotel. No entrance fee but you have to buy a first drink, which costs over IDR200,000 (free for hotel guests). They have a foreign live band playing international hits, and a DJ taking over when they are on break. Very entertaining. ReplyDeletewent here 24/7/12 (ramadhan month) after just arriving from the airport. no cover charge per say but your 1st drink is 120k (daylit robbery)man. the place it's self is not too shabby pretty classy with special sitting area that will cost u 3.3mil. hookers are well dressed n looking to dig in2 ur pocket. the going rate now is 1mil but the girls are going up market by asking from 1.5 to even 3mil (local). u hv to nego no matter wat. just tell them some BS that ur were here the other month n it was only 700 n nego from there... 2 can play this game. the girls were pretty avarage n like i say, u go early u can a better pic otherwise u just get the rejects. the BAND, totally crap don't knw what they were sing half time, they cldn't sing not like those in Top Gun. i say fire the lot of them n get the Top Gun band in. other than that bring lots of $$$$ it's so dam expensive spent us$400 just on drinks alone. wont be visiting this place any time soon otherwise 7/10

Went to CJs last time. It was fully packed; however, half of the guys there were old enough to be my grandfather; the other half were at least my father's age. Over 90% of the girls there were not attractive at all. The band was good, but the club had a very uncomfortable vibe. It seems to be filled with a bunch of prostitutes and not-so-good-looking older women who are throwing themselves at fat, ugly, and old foreigners. It was rather pathetic. We stayed for about 15 minutes, finished our watered down mojitos (160,000 rupiah each) and left. -K

Prices are competitive along with rest of the countries in the region - about USD 140 per bottle of Whisky and about the same asking price for a decent hooker-for-a-night and this comes down to about half as the place gets to closing time which is about 3 AM. We had a great time here.

I hv never been a fan of the band u just see a bunch of white guys trying to sing even the local bands are better. whats disappointing is that the going rate kicks off at 2mil, seriously...no wonder its dying out. was there for 2 nights and i only saw one that was close to 2mil otherwise don't wast your time. How will you know they're pros? Easy - 99% of the women in CJs are pros.
DeleteJust hang around the bar for a short time and you will see them trying to make eye contact with you. If you like what you see then hold their stare briefly, add a smile, and away you go.
I like CJs. I reckon about 10% of the girls are really good looking, and about 60% fairly good looking. Most are good fun and you can have a bit of a laugh with them too.
Get your tactics right. I would recommend waiting till about 10pm at least. Don't go for a girl too early as nicer ones may appear later. Walk the room and take your time before making your choice.
They will try to up the price, but with a bit of chat you can bring it back down again. Example : "hey I'm looking around and I reckon I'm the best looking guy in here so no way am I paying 2 mill. If you don't like it then try going with that fat indian guy over there". Worked for me several times 😎

ReplyDeleteI have noticed more and more are trying to take advantage. The typical one is bringing friends over to where you are standing and wanting you to buy them drinks too (and funnily enough they drink the same drink, so why not just buy a bottle honey?). I am seeing dumbasses falling for this scam all the time and at minimum 12-15 bucks a drink that can become really expensive in a short time.
Given that these are top-end hotels, in surprise the management haven't cracked down on this.
The other classic is arranging to meet a girl there, perhaps someone you know from before who stayed in contact. She turns up and so does her friend, usually along with some sob story about being alone at home and she was unhappy and didn't want to leave her, or that she was nervous and shy about coming by herself (yeah right!) blah blah blah. The 2 of them intend to drink on your tab all night.
Hey we are all grown ups. If you want to go with that then that's up to you, but for newcomers to these places, just be warned and don't allow yourself to be taken advantage of.
Haha yeah CJs full of guys - no offence but usually Korea, malaysia, singapore - throwing money around like they are the Wolf of Wall Street. This has made girls greedy. The guys either too dumb or dont care they are being taken advantage of. BATS not so bad for this, but CJs definitely.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion it's better on the less busy nights. Last night being, ahem, 'ladies night' it was rammed solid and far too many SPGs in the place. It spoils the place as you can't walk anywhere, stand anywhere or make any eye contact without being harrassed when it's that busy. They just loiter around the bar and the main walkway to the restrooms.
The management should set a limit in my view and they'd make the place a lot more enjoyable and likely make more money too. I gave up going to the bar as it was just impossible without SPGs harassing you and deliberately blocking the way so you have to interact with them.
Looking for Dewi....met her in blokm a few weeks ago...often to customer also. Are you out there?
