Savanna Rooftop Bar and Restaurant (Kelapa Gading)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Savanna is a brand new rooftop bar and restaurant that opened in Kelapa Gading in March 2016. It is one of the nicest venues in the area to have a drink. It seems one of the owners is Dada Hartoto Hardikusumo, an heir to the shipping company Andhika Lines. She was the Chef of Moya's Spanish Restaurant and she was also involved in other Spanish venues (Gusto in Epicentrum and Que Rico Hamburguesa in Kemang). They have regular events such as live music and DJs. Friday night is Rn'B, otherwise it's more house and EDM. They also have stand up comedians on Saturday.

LOLA Lounge (Gunawarman - Senopati - Jakarta)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Lola is a new bar and lounge that just opened in December 2015 near Senopati, on Jalan Gunawarman. It is a bit hidden, below their sister Japanese restaurant FŪJIN. It is owned by the Biko Group which is also behind Beer Garden . They are following the worldwide trend for speakeasy bars, started in Jakarta by venues like Prohibition, Artoz , Bauhaus and Nip & Dram . Since last year, you also have Hemingway and Proof.

Paulaner Brauhaus German Restaurant

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Ya Udah Bistro and Die Stube have a new competitor. Paulaner Brauhaus is the most upmarket German restaurant and Brasserie in Jakarta and it is part of the luxury Kempinski hotel. It is in a central location within the Grand Indonesia mall, just next to Social House. It is almost always busy, any day for both lunch and dinner. The crowd is a mix of expats, business travelers and Indo-Chinese customers who seem to enjoy the non-halal pork specialties. They serve a complete menu that includes any kind of sausages you can think of. One of their most popular dishes is actually a huge sausage platter that costs Rp140,000.

Nuage (Whiz Prime, Kelapa Gading, Jakarta)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Nuage is the bar of the  Whiz Prime Hotel  in Kelapa Gading. It is in the same location as Level 5 karaoke and Portable Kitchen and Lounge. It is rather basic, with cheap chairs and cabanas around a large swimming pool. It is technically a rooftop bar, but only on the third floor of the building so don't expect a spectacular view. The whole complex is owned by the infamous Stadium group (Malioboro, King Cross, Exodus, Nebula). Yet, there is nothing really kinky going on in Nuage. This might explain why the place is not so busy compared to the other ones. In spite of being quiet, they have enough budget to pay a team of resident DJs as well as a regular live band. In general, the DJs will play a mix of Rn'B, EDM and Top 40. Wednesday is 80s and 90s favorites and Friday live acoustic rock. Once in a while they have ex-Stadium DJs. You can get more information about their schedule on their Instagram account below.

Hause Rooftop & Kitchen (Setiabudi)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Hause is a small bar and restaurant located on the rooftop of MD Place in Setiabudi. You have a long selection of cocktails, Western and Indonesian food, live music on selected nights, and a hipster vibe. 90% of the crowd is made of twenty-something Indonesians, among which a lot of pretty girls.  The building is only 6 floors high so you don't expect a fantastic view. There are plants and flowers everywhere and it's what I liked the most about Hause. It truly feels like an oasis in the city (especially in that area of Jakarta where you don't have any green spaces). A similar venue is Lucy in the Skye in SCBD.

Cotton Club Jakarta (Jazz and Fine Dining)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Update October 2015: Cotton Club has been replaced with Motion Blue . The Cotton Club Jakarta is a new jazz club and fine dining restaurant located in the  Fairmont Hotel  in Senayan. It is managed by the same group behind the Blue Note and the Cotton Club in Tokyo, both among the best venues in the city to listen to jazz, soul, or latin music live bands. I don't think they can offer the exact same experience as it will be much harder to attract the best international jazz performers in Jakarta. Still, it has the potential of becoming a nightlife hotspot for an older type of clientele. It will compete with nearby Black Cat in Senayan Arcadia, but also with a bunch of new upmarket lounges that have opened recently like Artoz , Hemingway or Nip And Dram .

Artoz Whisky and Cognac Bar (Jakarta)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Artoz is a whisky bar/lounge located in the Energy Building in SCBD. It replaced Marley's Bar which closed down a while ago. It claims to be the largest collection of Whisky and Cognac in Jakarta, but I am not sure it is true as I believe there is quite an extensive spirit menu in Nip & Dram as well. I visited Artoz during Ramadan, probably not the best time to do so and unsurprisingly it was empty. Artoz is similar with Nip and Dram actually, both in terms of concept, size and setting: You have comfortable leather sofas and chairs spread across a windowless room, with a bar on on side and a live music stage on the other one. The main difference I saw is that Artoz is not as dark and it seems they don't have those crazy minimum spend amounts. The prices are pretty steep still, about USD15 for a standard cocktail. You are also given the menu of the French Restaurant  Amuz , which belong to the same person (Chef Gilles Marx, also behind Auroz).

Double Doors (Expat Bar Puri Indah)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Double Doors is a live music pub located opposite of Puri Indah Mall in West Jakarta. There are not many other expat bars in the area so it attracts a small (but growing) community of foreigners. I visited on a weekday at 6pm and the place was reasonably busy with a mixed crowd of young expats and Indonesians. There were some girls too, seemingly office workers. The bar is part of the same group behind Eastern Promise , De Burse and De Hooi . The operate all their venues with a similar concept: Affordable pub food, regular events, friendly and outgoing waitresses, live music, and sports. They are not inside malls and they have a rustic charm that matches the traits of their Dutch owner Bartele Santema. The place is built on 3 floors: The ground floor is the bar area, the second floor the live music room, and the last one is dedicated to sports (or it can be booked for private events). Overall : I recommend you to visit Double Doors if you are looking for a place to social
