By Jakarta100bars →
Many of the Jakarta hotels listed on this review are hidden brothels with plus plus spas, karaoke and nightclubs inside. I also wrote about hotels with freelance prostitution bars and those located in red-light districts or walking distance from famous naughty nightlife spots (brothels, massage parlours, karaokes).

16 Cheap Girl-Friendly Hotels in Jakarta Under 40$/Night

By Jakarta100bars →
Girl-friendly hotels in Jakarta are not difficult to find. As I mentioned in my guides Choosing Your Hotel in Jakarta and Hotels With Massage Parlours in Jakarta , most of them will not bother you if you decide to bring a girl back to your room. However, it can be a bit more tricky in the budget hotel segment. Some of them are indeed family-run or they can be "syariah" hotels, meaning they do not accept couples without a marriage certificate. I thought that to avoid you any bad surprises, I could make this list of cheap hotels under 40$ a night where you can be sure to be able to welcome a last-minute guest. I selected hotels that are located near nightlife areas too, preferably walking distance or just a few minutes away from famous bars and nightclubs.

Hotel Mercure Simatupang (Jakarta) - Hotel Review

By Jakarta100bars →
In March 2017, I stayed for a long weekend in Mercure Simatupang in Cilandak (South Jakarta). The hotel is part of the Mercure brand, an international collection of midscale properties managed by the French group Accor. TB Simatupang Road is considered the second business district in Jakarta after the Golden triangle (Sudirman - Gatot Subroto - Rasuna Said). It is growing fast, attracting large corporations from the Oil & Gas sector in particular. At the moment there are about 10 skyscrapers and probably just as many being constructed. It is not surprising that the largest station of the upcoming MRT project will be located in Lebak Bulus, just 500 meters from Mercure Simatupang. Works are still in progress and they can cause some traffic jams. Naturally, the hotel caters mostly to a business crowd, including some long staying guests. It is conveniently located right on TB Simatupang Road, and also right on the Jakarta Outer Ring Road which connects the airport to Bekasi t

18 Best Apartments in Jakarta for Bachelor Parties

By Jakarta100bars →
If you come to Jakarta for partying as a group of friends, for instance for a bachelor party , it is a good idea to book an entire apartment instead of a normal hotel. First, you can make great savings by splitting the cost of your stay among a few friends. Second, staying in an apartments make it easier to organize a party at home before heading out. This can save you more money especially if you buy a few bottles of spirits at the airport before flying to Jakarta (1 bottle per person allowed). Even if you don't know anybody in the city yet, spend an hour on Tinder or any other popular dating sites  as soon as your plane lands. I guarantee that if you are friendly and not creepy, you can easily get a girl and her friends to join your party. The key word here is " not creepy ": Just be cool, don't expect anything else than a fun evening. You will see that the promise of free booze and pizza in a nice downtown apartment can make you very popular.

Sana Sini (Pullman Hotel Jakarta)

By Nyoman →
Sana Sini (Here and There in Indonesian) is the new Restaurant of the Pullman Jakarta Indonesia. This Hotel, strategically located on Jl Thamrin near Bunderan HI and Plaza Indonesia has been under huge renovation in order to compete with the new 4-star and 5-star Hotels in the City (like The Hermitage or Double Tree Hilton to name a few). The Sana Sini is the main Restaurant of the Hotel and it is located on the first floor close to the reception and the Makaron Bakery. The first impression is that the place is very wide: You have the impression of being in a fancy department store ! You can walk through the different corners, each of them representing a different type of cuisine. You have Indonesian food at the back, a Chinese corner, a Japanese corner and Western food. You also have a very good selection of breads and cheeses. It is headed by a French Chef.

Spa and Wellness (Pullman Hotel Jakarta)

By Nyoman →
Spa and Wellness is located in Pullman Hotel Jakarta Indonesia, near Bunderan HI, on the second floor. It has been part of the whole renovation of the Pullman Jakarta (ex-Nikko). The facilities include a Fitness center, which is open 24/7, and a swimming pool. Each locker's room (man and woman) feature a jacuzzi. The price for 1-hour massage is 425 000 Rp, and some treatments are designed for businessmen and include therapeutic back massages. It is recommended if you spend too much time in front of a computer or on an airplane.

DoubleTree Hotel Jakarta

By Nyoman →
DoubleTree by Hilton is a new 4-star hotel in Jakarta. It is the second time the Hilton group ventures in the city. The group opened its first Hilton in Jakarta in 1976, but the hotel changed its name in 2006 after the 30-year management contract had expired. It is now called the Sultan Hotel. DoubleTree will be located in Menteng, close to the CBD, close to Jalan Diponegoro with its numerous  embassies and government offices. The hotel will have 253 rooms, which makes it rather small compared to other chain hotels in the city (usually 350 and more rooms). It is aimed to be a big convention center with several meeting rooms and a business center. Food-wise, there will be a fusion-style tapas restaurant: The Vicolo. The Hermitage Hotel Menteng

By Nyoman →
The Hermitage Hotel Menteng is a new 5-star boutique property (90 rooms) scheduled to open on May 1st, 2014 in Jakarta. The hotel is located in a Dutch colonial building from 1923, the "Telefoongebow", which was initially a telecommunication center. It later served as the main office for the National Education Ministry. It is in one of the most exclusive neighbourhoods in Jakarta and it is walking distance from Jalan Surabaya and its antique open-air market. I am really interested about the Hermitage Hotel as I believe it is part of a burgeoning trend to restore and promote historical buildings in the city. The hotel should attract beyond the regular business crowd and give a great new options for a more upmarket, tourist clientele. The hotel is owned by PT Menteng Heritage Realty. It used to be operated by GLA, a small management company headed by Grace Leo, and based in France, but a few months after opening they stopped it to manage it independentl

Hotel Kristal Jakarta

By Nyoman →
Hotel Kristal (or Kristal Hotel) is located in South Jakarta, near the Jakarta International School. It is rather big with 328 rooms. Many people know it for its bar "Satu Lagi" , located near the main entrance, close to the pool. This is a very friendly bar with good music and many expats. 1. The Location Great location in the South of Jakarta (Jakarta Selatan), close to Pondok Indah Mall, the most popular luxury shopping center in the area. Kristal Hotel is very convenient if you work in TB Simatupang. Many of the customers actually come from Oil & Gas companies whose head offices are in South Jakarta. It is often used for a business trip as it is only one of the 2 biggest hotels around with Mercure Jakarta Simatupang (232 rooms). The other ones are mostly in Kemang: Grand Kemang, Swiss-Belhotel, Amarrossa Hotel or Fave Hotel/Pop Hotel for budget travelers.

Morrissey Hotel Jakarta

By Nyoman →
Morrissey Serviced Apartment Entrance Morrissey is a very trendy place. It is a long-stay hotel full of expats and executives working in the area. Everybody knows Morrissey originally for their famous Italian restaurant, Ocha & Bella with charming modern design. I like the atmosphere in the lobby of this hotel, full of old-fashion objects like a 1950's motorcycle, a Vinyl reader or an Antique typewriter. Except for the first picture, I took all the pictures myself with my cell phone for this review, sorry for the approximate quality !  1950's Sidecar Motorcycle in Morrissey's Hotel Lobby 1. The Location Morrissey Serviced Apartment is a located on Jl. Wahid Hasyim, in the Menteng area. This Hotel hosts on his ground floor the famous Ocha & Bella Restaurant , which is one of my favorite Italian restaurant in Jakarta. On the same street you will also find Bars like Beer Garden Menteng , or many other hotels like Akmani Hotel, Kosenda Hotel or

Kosenda Hotel Jakarta

By Nyoman →
Kosenda Facade After being to Awan Lounge Rooftop Bar in Kosenda Hotel , I was curious about this place. Now that I read the Wall Street Journal Review, I thought that international attention on this Hotel must be a good thing and I had to try it. 1. The Location This Hotel is located on Jalan Wahid Hasyim 127, very close to Thamrin. Jalan Wahid Hasyim is a busy street for Hotels (Oria, Akmani, Ibis but also Morrissey , FaveHotel), Restaurants (my favourite being Ocha & Bella) and Bars like Beer Garden Menteng. The street is very close to Thamrin which makes it a very central location, with a close access to Bunderan HI and Sudirman. The location is thus perfect for a 2/3 days business trip in Jakarta. 2.
