12 Best Online Dating Sites and Apps in Vietnam (2019)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Meeting a girl in Vietnam has never been easier thanks to the Internet. Plenty of dating websites and apps have been launched in the past 10 years, giving you access to thousands of single Vietnamese girls from all backgrounds. For guys, Vietnam is like a treasure chest. Just upload a few decent pictures of yourself, write an interesting profile, and you are normally guaranteed to match with hundreds of pretty and smart girls. There is a catch, though: 95% of Vietnamese girls are looking for serious relationships, so forget about easy one night stands. It may happen from time to time, but that's not the best country for that (check my article Best Countries to Meet Girls in Asia ). I've used all the dating apps and sites available in Vietnam. In this article, I'll tell you which ones work the best, whether you are an expat, a traveler, a Vietnamese or even someone who's never been in the country.

15 Famous Naughty Massage Parlors in Hanoi (2019)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Following my review about the 25 Best Massage Parlors in Saigon (one of my most read articles last year), I've decided to write the equivalent for Hanoi. I haven't visited any of the venues listed below for two reasons: 1) I'm not really into spas 2) Hanoi is one of the easiest cities in the world to meet girls, either in nightclubs (see my Hanoi Nightlife Guide ), or online through VietnameseCupid for instance. You can also get a sexy sugar baby easily on a website like (it's free to browse girl's profiles). Therefore, all the content of this article was taken from the internet, mostly on Vietnamese forums that a friend helped me translate. We double-checked every piece of information, but if you find a mistake, please leave a message in the comment section below.

Hanoi Nightlife Guide (2018) - Vietnam

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
I just spent two weeks in Hanoi and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the nightlife. When I was living in Saigon , people kept telling me that Hanoi was a conservative town with unfriendly people, a curfew at midnight and a suffocating weather. In fact, I found barely any differences between the two cities, and particularly at night. Saigon is in my Top 3 party destination in Southeast Asia, and Hanoi is not far behind. The hundreds of bars, clubs, lounges, spas and karaokes in Hanoi range from extremely basic (4 walls and a stool) to world-class sophisticated venues. You'll rarely pay an entrance fee for any nightclubs and the drinks are usually cheap, even in the more upmarket spots. Girls are everywhere, from young backpackers to crazy-hot Vietnamese dolls. Just open VietnamCupid or Tinder and you'll have so many matches you won't be able to follow up with half of them.

Camelia Lounge and Club (Hanoi)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Camelia Lounge is a glamorous Champagne bar/lounge in Hanoi , one of the best I've visited so far in the city. It is located on the 3rd floor of the Mélia Hotel  in the Hoàn Kiếm district. It has a free entrance, but be warned that the drinks are quite expensive. The cheapest cocktails cost VND183,000 Net (= US$8), a bottle of Jack Daniels almost 130$ and a bottle Champagne at least 140$. Camelia is built on 1 floor, with 4 distinct areas (all connected to each other): A restaurant, a large central bar, a lounge and an outdoor terrace. It has a quirky design, with plenty of small, fun details. One of the best features is the pop art mosaic of 90's icons (Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction among others).

Best (Girl-Friendly) Hotels Near Hanoi Nightlife

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
A strategic location to stay near Hanoi nightlife is  around the Saint Joseph Cathedral . It is very central, near from all the tourist sites, 200 meters from the airport bus shuttle, 1 kilometers from the train station, and walking distance from 70% of the night spots of the capital. I was staying in a mid-range family-owned guest house called  Hanoi Old Quarter Homestay . The value for money was great (35$ for a large, modern room with double bed), but it is a small property so you don't get a lot of privacy. The following are also highly recommended (but not girl-friendly - check below): 5-Star and Luxury  Apricot Hotel : New property in a renovated colonial building, rated 9/10 on Agoda, just in front of Hoàn Kiếm Lake. On its basement, there is a posh gentlemen's club called Playboy Establishment . Price: Starting $120/night on  HotelsCombined .

1900 Le Theatre (Nightclub - Hanoi)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
1900 Le Theatre is a bar/nightclub located in the Old Quarter in Hanoi, more precisely in the action-packed Tạ Hiện Street. It is in the center of Hanoi nightlife , and unsurprisingly it gets crowded every day of the week by both young Vietnamese (75%, mostly students) and foreigners (25%, mostly tourists). It is my favorite club in this area but it closes early at 1AM (by 00.30AM they'll already stop selling drinks). You can go around 11PM, after drinking from the cheaper pubs nearby. The entrance is free on most nights but if there is a special event you'll have to pay around VND250,000. Drinks are more expensive than average: VND80,000 for a beer and VND120,000 for cocktail/liquor. It is worth it in my opinion. 1900 Le Theatre is a chic, Burlesque-themed venue, with a perfect set-up for events. This is logical as it used to be a theater during the French colonization.  The main point of focus is the elevated stage where DJs and live bands pe

Playboy Establishment - Nightclub (Hanoi)

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Hanoi was not the kind of city where I expected to find a Playboy-branded nightclub, and yet there is one in the basement of the Apricot Hotel (a 5-star hotel just 200 meters from Hoàn Kiếm Lake). The club is almost hidden from outside as there is no indication it exists apart from a discreet Playboy bunny sign at the entrance. There, a pretty hostess will welcome you in English and escort you to a table. The club was almost empty when I visited, probably because it was still early (9PM), on a weekday and only a month after the grand opening.

Fame Nightclub (Hanoi) - Sexy Dancers

By Thibaud (Jakarta100bars) →
Fame Nightclub is one of the best Viet-style nightclubs I visited in Hanoi (and I went to almost all of them). It is located in the city center (Hoàn Kiếm District), just next to the live music bar  +84 . As usual for Hanoi, there is no entrance fee to pay. The club is on two floors, with a VIP area upstairs and regular tables downstairs. It has a modern design, with a particularly great LCD displays behind the stage. The latter is elevated and spacious, allowing for proper live music performances and shows. Every night, they have sexy dancers who can actually dance a choreography. That's almost unheard of elsewhere in Asia (it reminded me of the  clubs in Taipei ). Some of the dancers are Viet and some are Ukrainians. The ones I saw where all drop-dead gorgeous, shaking their bodies in metal cages and wearing just bikinis/lingerie. To be honest I didn't pay too much attention to anything else.
